Help!!Mucus coming out of my rectum

Yll

New member
I just recently started having a problem with mucus coming out of my rectum. It looks like Diarreah but my stomach feels fine. Whenver I pass even a little bit of gas the shit oozes out. When I take a regular solid shit it is also accompanied by some mucus. Its pretty dam disgusting. I went to the doctor and he said that its from the protein, glutamine, and multivitamins I take. He said that its building up in my colon and could possibly be an infection. It doesnt hurt or anything either and I am somewhat constipated because I am on a keto type diet with very low fiber and calories. Somehow I have a hard time believing him considering Ive been taking the supplements for years. Hes just a regular family doctor so I want to get some opinions from some fellow BB. Anyone ever experience something like this?

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a term used to describe discomfort in the bowel (the colon, or large intestine). Symptoms of IBS may include crampy pain, bloating, gas, mucus in the stool, and changes in bowel habits. Some people with IBS have constipation—infrequent stools that may be hard, dry and painful. Others have diarrhea—frequent loose stools. Some people having alternating constipation and diarrhea. Sometimes a person with IBS has a crampy urge to move the bowels but cannot do so.

You may have heard IBS referred to as "spastic colon" or "spastic bowel." Sometimes IBS is confused with inflammatory bowel diseases such as ulcerative colitis. But IBS is not a disease and does not cause inflammation, bleeding, damage to the bowel, or cancer or other serious diseases. It is called a functional disorder, which means that there is no sign of disease when the colon is examined, but the bowel doesn't work as it should. The cause of IBS is not known, and as yet there is no cure.

Often IBS is just a mild annoyance, but for some people it can be disabling. They may be unable to go to social events, to go out to a job, or to travel even short distances. Most people with IBS, however, are able to control their symptoms through diet, stress management, and medicines

You NEED to add some FIBER IMMEDIATLEY. Trust me it will help. Go get soem sugar free metamuesil or a generic equivelent, and take the recommended serving at least three times a day. 24-72 hours after that, you should be all good.

Let me also add that this should be an ongoing thing, fiber that is. Try to eat more veggies. You can supplement your fiber intake w/ the metamuesil, but don't rely exclusively on it. Keep your fiber up everyday to avoid the poop mucus
