Hello From Airborne School

Well I graduated Yesterday and now a certified 31U Signal support systems specialist

I got to jump school 2day and will inprocess 2morrow. 2weeks and 3 days from Monday I'll have my jump wings...I'm going to try and talk to the Ranger Liason 2morrow. Hopefully he will be in so I can get it setup to change my orders to go to Rip straight from Jump school...It's very laid back here and seems like a good place. Alot of my buddies from Basic are here now and sound like they are having fun

Congrats. Army life treating you well? I got Marine bootcamp in 2 months, and 13 days. Excited as all hell. I'm hoping I'll be able to get assigned into an MEU after all is said, and done.

Airborne isn;t bad. DON'T get a sunburn on teh weekend or you are going to get killde in teh harnes. Just trust me.

The mini- PX is right up teh road from teh Airborne barracks. I am sure you found it - that's where the Burger King and Anthony's Pizza are...probably where you'll spend most of your weeknights.

Ther is NO reason to go to Main Post. You won't need teh commissary or big PX.

weekends: get out of Columbus if you can. I-185 leads to everything in COlumbus, except downtown. If you must stay there:

1> Old City Jail - downtown Columbus (take a cab). Also in teh area is the Loft and the Uptown Tap. Not too bad.

2> Red Rider's on Miller Road - it;s the exit just north of Macon Rd (I think it;s exit 7A)

3> Victoria's (just across from Red Rider's)

Downtown is the best scene though. It;s right of Voctory Dr past the Colisuem. Get a cab.

Plenjty of strip joints on Victory Drive. Recommend teh Foxy Lady.

Don't go to Al Who's (if it is still open). it sucks. Your budduies may want to but don't bother. Talk them out of it.


Auburn University is an hour away. But they hate military guys, generally.

Get to Atlanta if you can, or Panama City FL for teh weekends.

Hey Tx....Good luck in Jump School, get " Blood Wings " and follow the tradition my man, just don't let them see ya do it....rather frowned on now days....heh heh heh...Thanks to a few Marines I might add....

Listen to Matt on the night life, and Yes, steer clear of VD Drive, we didn't call it that fer nut'in....Head to Fla. when ya can my man, feet and knees together and enjoy the view and ride....

And PLEASE do me a favor, on your first jump, don't act like your asleep on the bird like alot of hardasses will, no one will sleep, you're all equal in that....you're scared shitless, but the adrenalin rush makes it all worth while......

Enjoy " Cardiac Hill " in the heat my man....heh heh heh

On another note.....Hey Matt, did you know Kurt Schmid, the Delta Medic on the Mog. Raid??? Kurt and I came through everything together, including EMT school, and pathfinder....He's a damn good Bro, he and Pardal just got back from Japan, talked with them last night...
