Heavy dumbbell curls, causing pain in forearms??

I'm moving back up the ladder on dumbbell curls using the 5x5 technique. I'm currently back to 125 for 5x5 my best effort was 140 for 5x3. Anyway I feel stronger this time around I'm doing all reps perfectly strict with no swing or spotter help. My forearms start to hurt like hell though during the lift. What causes this? Do I need to train my forearm muscles or is it just the weight that is causing it to hurt? It feels as if the bones will break if I keep adding weight. Any suggestions?

Have you considered whether your forearms might be overtrained? I get just that feeling - like the bones in my forearms are aching - whenever I work biceps and forearms too hard and often. Maybe your arms just need a few days of rest.

I felt way behind when I read that first post! haha Ive heard people get forearm splints, just like shin splints. Its probabally more pain then anything, but Im no expert. haha
