Health Insurance Screws me Again

Apparently to be covered under my dad until i'm 26, (obama's new law apparently) I have to have my birth certificate in the mail by today to the health insurance company to prove my age, even though they covered me less than 6 months ago. It's through medical mutual, but they told me I need to send another copy of my birth certificate yesterday. They didn't tell me anything or give me any heads up, and I don't know where the hell it's at. I've been looking everywhere for it.....

Am I literally screwed? What the hells a guy to do?
I'm taking it that I probably can't send a photocopied page from my passport, social security number, and drivers license and get away with it, can I?

Does anyone have any type of experience with birth certificates or health insurance (especially medical mutual) in general?

*note - I don't plan on being under my dad until i'm 26. I only need coverage for just another year.......
it's cheaper than paying for my own (thanks prez obama)
 
You can get your birth certificate from the Health Dept in minutes..then get it in next day mail.... I've had to do this many times..I dont know how many times I've lost my BC
 
They need your birth certificate to verify your dad is really your dad , so the other documents probably won't fly. Although I'd try to see first if alternate documentation will work

How the fuck do you lose your birth certificate? I lose everything but my social security card and birth certificate are always in the same place and safe.

Department of vital records is where you can get a replacement birth certificate
 
What about your parents, do they not have your birth certificate? I don't think photocopies of your passport, DL, or SSN will suffice. In fact, I'd be surprised if they'd consider a photocopy of your birth certificate and not a certified copy (I'm assuming that's because you're a former client, though)
 
lol I lose mine all the time..in fact mine is actually in my car right now. In my car. Iggy, go to your county health dept for 10 bucks you will have a new BC.
 
the state that you were born in will have the cert.. you answer a bunch of questions, use your visa, and it comes in the mail..
 
yeah, I know how to get it in 1-2 days. My question is, are there any ways to get it instantly.
It has to be in the mail today....

If I wasn't told about this yesterday i'd of had one by now.

I guess my only real option is to hunt down my hidden one today.....

honestly cw. I hid it with some other important things and can't remember the spot.
 
start tearing the house apart. I lose mine all the time. It's always in a super important spot that I can never remember.

I just hid it too well....

keep your SS card, birth certificate in a safe place.

and go to the health dept and they will print you a new one in minutes.. just take some utility bills and drivers license.

and yeah lucky for you for Obamas bill. when i was your age I got kicked off at 19.. and i had to buy my own for like $300 per month. so be happy

hahah that's great I'm glad you found it. You sound like me :) You could have gotten your BC though..there is always a way to solve a problem :)

Yeah, I got the bill today for the last ER visit...over a grand. I pay 50 bucks. I like that I don't have to deliberate about it and I just take her in.

but poison control TOLD you to take her to the ER?

Was it necessary? What did the ER doc say?
