on the Military Channel? The narrators keep babbling about American forces annihilating the enemy. Don't those motherfuckers know we lost that one?

No we didn't.

Do you see communists killing you in your sleep? Nope. Vietnam War = War on Communism just like Iraq War = War on Terror. We're just killing arabs now instead of asians. That's all.

Try telling Vietnam Vets they 'lost'.

Most Vietnam vets I've talked to readily admit they lost the war but they blame it on the politicians and not the soldiers. I'm certainly not blaming anyone. I just hate how the documentaries make it sound like we won.

A lot of peeps paid hell for the "Red Scare". At least our consciences are settled now though, lol.

Well they can join the iraqi vets whose politicians are going to make them 'surrender' and come home. Maybe they can march in parades together for that 'freedom' they gave us by 'losing'.

I don't get your point on the war. Do you think we were right or wrong for getting involved with Vietnam?

BTW neither war was about "freedom" for the USA.

The US took the side of South Vietnam in order to prevent the North Vietnamese communist takeover of that area. North Vietnam proceeded to take over South Vietnam and unite the entire country under one communist government. I have a hard time understanding how anyone could view that as anything else other than losing.

Doesn't matter. Citizens start wars by going to the polls and voting in PRO-WAR candidates. We did that two times.

So it's stupid dipshit Americans that start wars. It's stupid dipshit politicians like Rumsfeld and Bush that lie to the public, cut funding and lose wars.

But the end justifies the means I guess. Communists and Terrorists don't run this country - so in that respect, we won.
