Have you ever rented a room out of a stranger's house?

I'm looking at this sweet deal of a room for rent out of this four bedroom 2200sq.foot house. It's in an awsome neighborhood with a garage space and full backyard. She only wants 325 a month including utilities. This works out well for me because I only want something short-term and a chance to save up some money for grad school.

B U T, I have never met this 37 year old lesbian (meeting times being discussed right now). What goes along with renting a room? Is that the only place I can go or what? Do I have free reign of the house, wtf is this all about? Any help, suggestions or previous experiences would be appreciated, thanks

I'm sure you would have access to the other main rooms but I don't know how comfortable I would feel renting and actually living with a stranger. probally different for a guy though.

I did that before in college, but I had the basement and she had the upstairs. I had my own living room, bedroom, kitchen and bathroom.

It was great in my situation.

It just depends on the roomie.

Very true to all the above. I am very curious as to the 'type' of lesbian she is. The idea of living with one is quite enticing actually, not in a perverted fashion, but it would be an interesting living experience. I think we are meeting for coffee in a few days and I imagine the meeting will either make or break my decision. And the thought of the amount of money I could rack up by just biting the bullet for a year or so. That 325 includes utilities. I imagine I could even talk her down if a little as well.

Are lesbians generally nice walks of life or abrassive towards men. Never had any kind of relationship with one but i picture them to have man-hating tendencies?

In my area you can get a studio apt. for $450 or a 1 bedroom apt. for $550. I'd rather pay the extra hundred a month than have to deal with someone else.

probably if she hated men she would not be meeting with you to discuss renting the room. I've known very nice lesbian girls. Don't go with any pre-conceived notions. Just feel her out when you get there.

I hate apartment living with a passion though. To get even a decent 1 bedroom in a prime neighborhood (very important to me) would be around 500+ with utilites included. And you have to deal with neighbors on all sides of you, shitty carpeting and paint-jobs, crap parking (extra for covered parking...always) and very minimal sq. footage of actual living space.

I agree though it could turn out to be a total nightmare not knowing the other person...or the beginning to a life-lasting beautiful lesbian friendship. Its a crap-shoot

Can you say that slower?
