Has Accutane NOT worked for anyone?

Im going into about week 8 and I dont notice one difference in my chest and shoulder acne...doing 80 mgs weekly.....has anyone done this amount and not had the accutane work?

No worries man. I was on 80mg/ed for 10 months. My skin didn't really clear up well until a few months after I initially started taking it. But once it did, it never came back. I've since been off it for 2 yrs or so and my skin remains extremely clear, even when on cycle. (Also cycled during without problems) Give it some time bro, its the miracle acne drug.

you're not doing even close to enough. 50mg per day will clear it up in around 6 weeks.

if you want a faster acting accutane related product, check out retin-a micro. it is the same active chemical in accutane (isotrentinoin) (spelling) except it is a topical ointment that works very well. I used oral accutane and it worked wonders. It literally shuts down your sebacious glans

I was prescribed accutane back when I was in college. The doctor told me that it was normal for it to get worse first and then it'll start to clear you up. Just have some faith. The stuff works wonders!! I was on an extremely high dose (160mg/ed) due to how bad my acne was. Everything has been cleared up for good. I tend to get a little acne here and there so I try to stay on a low dose just for maintenance purposes.

Hey Nab12, little update with my batch. Little over 2 months in and just started to see it disappearing. Still have very small acne on shoulders (has cleared up the sick, scattered big guys) and also get the occasional painful zit, but has cleared up pretty damn good. Running 40mg of Clarus a day, generic accutane-perscribed. Hang in there captain.

ok

i was prescribed this by my derm in my early 20s

(no previous use or AAS, nor using at the time)

weeks 1-4 the usual dryness, cracked lips and sore nose
5-12 utter hell for me - skin was dry worse than ever with spots and peeling, still cracked and sore lips, joints ached like hell
weeks 13-16 it started getting better in terms of acne going, still a fair bit of redness to facial skin, slitly less dryness every where else

4-5 years on and i have had probably 10 spots in total and have no fear of them breaking out again. the odd one or two come every few months

if you can get through the nitial stages of looking worse than you did before you took it you (IMO) should be fine

it gets worse before it gets better
that was my 'cycle' though and my acne was quite bad but not to the level of some i have seen so longer stints at higher doses maybe required

IMO if this doesnt work for you, im not sure what else will, saying that i did mine 4-5 years ago so there maybe something new out

good luck, hang in there
