Hairloss, Hair Transplants & GH... thoughts?

As there are no stitches or scar to stretch with with FUE / FIT, the back of the head is pretty much healed a few hours after surgery. You only have to worry about that with Strip surgery.

The problem with going to the gym after a FUE surgery would only be knocking or popping out the newly placed graphs in the recipient sites on the top of the head. If you're very careful you could go to the gym next day although it's probably not recommended until the graphs are "set" in place after about 7 days.

Thats good to hear... I definitely don't want to pop or risk scratching anything out & didn't like the idea of a ton of downtime (I believe it was like 3 weeks) with FUSS.

thanks for the input! are you able to quote what you paid per graft from Feller?

I had a lunchtime session which was i think $1800. Only 200 graphs but it was simply to refine and touch up the hairline on one of my temples.

Think he normally charges around $10 a graft which is about right for FUE. It's about $3-5 for strip but in my opinion not having a scar in the back of your head is priceless.

The scar on the back of your head will fade out, besides you'll have hair over it. Also, with the strip method they can go over the count. Mine was suppose to be 800 @ $3,200-, I ended up getting $200- extra grafts at no additional charge. The placement and quality is top notch, but each their own.

Strip has it's place but anything under 1500 grafts go FUE. From a good doc strips can be pencil thin, the problem is there aren't many good docs and there can still be complications and if the scar does stretch it will cause a whole other problem.

I think however that strip results are still the best. If you need more than 1500 and most do to get decent density, then go strip as it's proven and less chance of a poor yield..... it's also a lot cheaper.

FUE is still in its development stage and the results are not as consistent as strip. I'm glad i went FUE because there is no evidence I had anything done and it was almost like a trip to the dentist... but if I had more hairloss and I needed 1500 + grafts I would go strip as yes at the end of the day you can hide the scar if the doctor has done a good job.

Tical.... before you go with Armani read this whole discussion of his latest FUE results. They're not looking too good.

He's good at strip but he seems to be over stretching his FUE skills. He rushed in and promised megasession numbers that no other doctor could achieve with FUE. Also bear in mind the inventor of FUE (Dr Woods) only extracts a maximum of 500 grafts a day via FUE. Armani reckons he can do 3500. Problem is most don't grow.

I waited afew years with Dr. Sword, I was happy with his results, so I took the leap. I'm in the military medical field, and I do stiches myself. I'll tell you this guy is good. They were not done too tight, after 1 month of the surgery only a slight ridge, and hairs were popping up. I normally shave my head, so it isn't really something people would key in on (the hair that is). I'm very happy with my results.
I would definitely do research regardless.

yeah man, i've been reading a lot of things about armani (good & bad). it does seem like he tends to 'brute' force a lot of FUE into a day session.

i sent some pics to a couple of places and most places came back with between 1200-1500 grafts for what i want done (just a slight touch up of my hairline) but armani ball park estimated me at needing between 3000-3500.

seems excessive... his hairline work is superb though, can't argue with that.

i like feller because of his conservative approach, being that there is a finite amount of donor available i like the idea of taking things a bit slower.

its chess not checkers w/ this type of stuff.

if i was doing strip i'd probably go to H&W... their strip work is great & their scars are minimal

maybe in the future

... hopefully by then we'll have some kind of hair multiplication available to us all
