Hairloss, Hair Transplants & GH... thoughts?

Anyone here have an HT and use GH during recovery? Did it improve / speed things up at all?

I'm REALLY curious about this... I can't seem to find any information anywhere on this specific combination (HT+GH).

We all know GH has great healing properties so it should be self explanatory, but I'm curious if anyone here has actually supplemented for this type of surgery (or any surgery for that matter!)

I don't know the extent of your hairloss but if you are really concerned about the healing, get a Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) hair transplant. Google it.

Heals in couple of days from my experience and pretty much no evidence of surgery by day 7.

wow, ;that's was a good read..

It takes only 7 - 10 days for it to heal... If you are going to spend that kind of money, why take chances?

Follicules will more than likely go into shock as it is, causing the hairs to fall out pretty much right after the 10 th - 14 th day, however, they should start popping back up in 3 mos. or less.

The stiches on the back of your head will come out in about 10 days give or take on the amount of hair that taken from the donor area.

I don't recommend trying to rush things. I wouldn't take anything during that time period, but that's just my 2 cents. Good luck Bro.

yeah i've read about FUE & if i was going to do an HT that is the only way I'd go... my only though of GH was to aid in recovery

HTs take around 6 months to start growing in and up to a year to see full results... I wondered if GH would speed this up

In truth I don't know, I would think not. But, I could be wrong.
Like I said though I would not try to rush anything...

BTW... I meant to ask you do you shave your head?
The reason I ask is 2 fold.
1) If you do and you go into the procedure with 2 - 3 days of growth it make the whole thing run smoother. Since, you have a clean and clear canvas to work with instead of the Dr. having to push grown hairs out of the way, they don't have to shave the donor area, etc...

2) If you shave your head the follicules will already be in a more rapid growth stage. This will also improve the bounce back time on the hair regrowth after surgery, strength and thickness of the hair. I've seen some guys end up keeping 50% - 70% of the hair post surgery (after 14 th day) because of this practice. I myself being one of them, I still shaved my head for I'd say 2-3 mos after. Then I let it grow in, and it did just fine. It was like magic I'd see little stubble start showing here and there.

Now, the one thing I did do was use a product called Revivogen, if you can't find it PM me and I point you in the right direction. I also took folic acid, which is what pregnant women take it for a healthy baby, and alot of the ones I've talked too have noticed that their nails and hair grow faster and stronger after adding it to their prenatal care.

Keep us in the know, so we can see what you do, and how things turn out. Take care...

I also almost forgot to throw in there that your post surgery care can make or break the out come. ie. if you scratch your head within the 7 day window, chances are good you are going to pull out (a) follicul(es). If they give you a healing spray make sure you use it. This will cut down on the itching, and speed up the healing. This would be about the only thing you can use on your 'hair' / on your scalp until about day 7 - 10. You will be washing it with baby shampoo for the first week, using the pouring method. You won't be doing the shower head thing, or using your fingers to wash for about a week as well.

Remember, the only thing that is holding the follicules in place is pressure from the surrounding skin, and the blood from the incisions.

Good luck and like I said keep us in the know...

Mine was Dr. Sword in California, Huntington Beach / Rolling Hills Estate area. I went back to the gym full force about day 9 just to be on the safe side. If you strain you can pop the stitches in the back of your head, or worse yet push those little guys out of your head making a very expensive mistake.

I've had 5 small FUE surgeries.

2 poor efforts with Dr Jones in Toronto which required a very, very expensive but very good FUE with Dr Woods in Sydney, Australia (he invented the procedure).

An average FIT surgery which is the same as FUE by Dr Cole in Atlanta and then a very good FUE with Dr Feller in NYC.

Feller is very good. I have my concerns about Armani. Little too slick with the marketing and his photographic results are too staged with careful angles and lighting for my liking, but I know there are plenty of fans out there. He's certainly one of the better one's.

Make sure you see at least 2 or 3 patients in person of the doctor before you decide. The photos and video that you see online really AREN"T the reality.
