Any1 ever have it done? If so, were you stats (bench press) changed by the operation? Did you notice you could lift more AFTER the operation?

THANKS, the reason I ask is because I was wondering if one should skip chest workout until after.

Not really sure what you are asking here!
The surgery will change nothing as far as lifting goes, it is purely cosmetic!
You definatley don't want to be working out until you are completely recovered!

what im wodering is this: i have noticed that i have never been able to bench too much and i wonder if the fat from the gyno is hindering my gains. I know it sounds funny but i was wondering if any1 had a similar experience or perhaps noticed their MAX increased much easier after the surgery.

and i eat a lot of food and workout properly so i am looking at other factors. although my test is low and i am going to be put on TRT (even though im only 22), i should be gaining easy and steadily raising the weight EOweek but no, im barely making any progress. ALSO when i lift i notice i get DOMS more under my armpits than across my whole chest. Is this normal?

This isnt necesarily so. If you're training naturally, eventually your body will get to a point where gains will be few and far inbetween regardless of how you train.

I Had gyno back in 2001… I got it from running deca at 600g a week in a moderate size stack. Anyhow I waited and waited for it to go away for about 6 months but it did not (this was before anyone knew what to do about deca induced gyno… and if I recall correctly some were under the impression RU-486 could reverse the effects. Now that we have Bromo, and dostinex I will feel safe from prolactin based gyno on my upcoming Tren/EQ/test/Clen cycle.

Anyways now to answer your question… I went to the Surgeon based on the mutual agreement between myself and my general physician that what I had was some form of Gyno. The surgeon then had me in for a consultation, agreed that indeed it was gyno (I did not tell him about any steroids… so it would seem natural) He was able to submit it to my insurance described as something like “a fibrous benign growth that should be removed to prevent any further complications” they covered it, and within a week I was on the table. He used general anesthesia (but offered local), and the entire procedure took 15 minutes or so with a 45 min recovery time. I was told after the surgery that the mass had grown to about 1.5” in diameter knot (probably a lot larger then yours is because I let it grow for all that time). Since the growth is almost always completely above the muscle they in a minimum of internal sutures (so recovery time was very short) the incision he made was a semicircular cut around the areola (outer perimeter) of the nipple. I can not even see the scar, even when I am heavily tanned not can any residual scarring be felt. Post surgery pain was nonexistent! All I had was the normal itching associated with the healing of a wound that required stitching. He told me to wear a wide ace bandage wrapped around my chest for a week with additional padding in the nipple area to hold 24/7 compression so that the pocket where the mass had once been would not fill with fluid and need later aspiration. After a week I took it off went back in for my post surgery visit every thing was fine.

Ok To sum all this up… My chest is now perfectly symmetrical; scarring is nearly non-existent, post surgery pain was minimal. Don’t believe the hype… If you are in the USA (I’m NJ/NY area) and would like to know my surgeons contact info I will provide it via PM. Good luck Bro… I’m off to a barbeque!

Yes, I've had it done -

After I rested / recovered and I got back to benching it didn't take long to build myself back up to what I was lifting before the op.

I'm very pleased with the results - no obvious scarring and no major pain following the procedure. My surgeon cut under my armpits so visible scarring is minimal :)

I had gyno surgery three weeks ago. My scars are still red right now but they will fade after time. I am very happy with the results. My case was unusual to. I am 27 yrs. old, 175 pounds, 12%bf, and have been lifting for 7 years. Gyno ran on my mother's side of the family in men ages 20-30. I went through everything to figure out why and it all boiled down to it being hereditary. All blood tests reults were normal. Breast cancer also runs on my mother's side (my mom had it) so insurance covered it. I have some scar tissue under the skin and above the muscle that is very hard where the tissue was removed. My doc said that will soften after 3-6 months. I was lifting again 2 weeks after the surgery. I can wear t-shirts now without worrying how I look. Just so you know, I was very worried about how it would look afterwards. Everyone is a allowed some vanity especially when some of us work long and hard for results. It is worth it! Don't worry about how it looks the next day....your body needs time to heal!

I'm sorry. But, I think It's funny "Pec" got gyno.

I can say that bc I got gyno at puberty (age 12.) Not the lumps that can be cut out. But, actual breast tissue. It didn't exactly help me w/the ladies. I benched 7 days a week for 6 yrs to try to get rid of it. (I know that was stupid) At age 18, I had lipo at cleveland clinic. They only took out about a shot glass size of fat. And, it didn't look any better. But, still cost $3,000. After college, I had some $. So, I had 2 more lipo's. (breast tissue is very fiberous). But, it still didn't look good. So, I left the country and had a very aggressive special type of lipo that worked. I have no idea how much money I spent. Don't feel sorry for me bc it was worth every penny. It is great to be able to take off your shirt at the beach and have girls say how sexy your body is. And, its even better to tell the girls that used to make fun of me( who now throw themselves at me) to F-OFF!!!
