Ive never been able to get a straight answer about it. I had my surgery in Dec. of '05.
It was from puberty and it was a moderate case. He said I was a "mixed bag". He did some lipo and crushed the gland. Ive never seen this before but he said removing it totally can cause pits in the chest.
At first I was pissed he didnt remove the gland but then the swelling started to go down even more after the 5 month period and it looks great and the crushed gland is not visible. Keep in mind I am not a sub 10% person as of right now. Im hovering around 13% so I guess it is possible that if I got extremely lean it may show slightly.
Another reason I am glad is because on my right pec there is an area where it appears he accidentally removed part of the gland and there is a small but fairly deep divot. If this were to be bigger and on both sides it would look strange.
It just so happened that my Dr. was the chief of plastic surgery here in MD at GBMC. This put my mind at ease that he knew what he was doing.
I never brought up the gyno coming back from AAS use when the gland is removed because I could just tell with his personality that he would have lectured me and I would have felt just plain stupid.
