Used to date a chick in Tucson and would go down there and look for a gym to get a workout in.....that town basically sucks for gyms. Pretty much Bally's and one World Gym over near the skid row part of town (Stone and something.....over near a park filled with homeless people.) The UA campus has a sweet facility but packed as hell all the time. Also, South Tucson has a Powerhouse Gym (I think) but its in a REALLY tough part of town and if you're white.....good luck in the parking lot.
Most of the independent gyms are either about to go out of business or already folded up. Like I said, it sucks, your best bet is Bally's if you want a gym there that will stay in business and safe to get in and out of.
