GYM MEMBERSHIP EXPIRES sept 29 :*(

New member
OMG NOOOO. my membership to LA fitness is over sept 29 if i do not renew it. I have a few options right now: beg my parents and give them my money from work which they won't accept probably to renew it and HOPE that they will (they think it is a waste of money a month since i "ONLY" go 4x/week)

OR i could be a traveling lifter and waste lots of gas driving and lift at a few friends' houses 3-4x/week. But theyd have less variety. Just some dumbells and a bench. No squats :worried: . but i guess everything else is taken care of...

OR i could start using the treadmill at my house and run like hell mostly instead of lift and concentrate on core workouts WITHOUT equipment needed like situps/pushups/etc.

I know some of you are thinking why not just buy a few dumbells and a cheap bench and use it at your house? well i am going to college in about...9 months when i start summerschool. So it would be cheaper to go to the gym still and pay 25/month for 9 months rather than spend 500$+ on some weights i will have no use for when i go to college with their public gym.

i just dont know :worried: :( i'm screwed all ways except for #1 i think. I just have to convince damn parents that it is worth the $$$ since the guy at the desk at LA fitness wouldnt accept my offer to pay them 25$ a month in cash lol...yea i got desperate :verygood:

whats the worsed they can say bro... no? at leased you tried..

There's no way I'm reading all that shit about some gym membership.

i know...but it's just that i HAD a gym membership last last summer for about 2 months, i was so lazy and didnt go because id come home from summerschool and never go. And i didnt drive so i'd always have to wait for my PARENTS' convenience. and i wasn't serious at all...id go, listen to some music, hit a couple random machines, and leave. But recently since i started up membership in july i've been really serious and have made some amazing improvements - im almost benching 3x what i WAS benching when i started - it's still low...but over a 3 month period tripling my weight i lift is pretty impressive i think. i'm sure the increases in weight will slow now as they have...but i am still slowly increasing 2.5 lbs every week :) . Goal by the new year is to be benching past my body weight (175) for 5 clean reps without help. Right now i'm benching 125. Big improvement from just the bar (45) 3 months prior.

anyways that long explanation is basically saying i have gotten very involved in this "sport" or whatever you want to call it. And i have seen great results. And it makes me feel good. And i am glad i started doing it (as i am glad i have been on EF finding a bunch of great people) so the last thing i'd think of would be to stop it :(

Your looking for help in the wrong place. Nobody in C&C lifts.

are you serious? i lift all the time i assumed everyone, for the most part, did. I thought C and C was a place to waste a little time and have a laugh once in a while. Not necessarily people who DONT lift to talk amongst themselves. Im sure some do like sublime, monster, etc. i think...

1. You can still do squats with dumbells
2. You dont need 500$ to spend on weights.
3. Get yourself like a 40lbs dumbell for squats
depends on how much you lift, you can use the same ones for shoulders, chest, bi's and tri's

I cant go to the gym and still managed to work out with my dumbells.

well i thought about a dumbell set but they are pretty expensive themselves and would come out around the same price as the membership for a few months...its not really the PRICE stopping me...its that id have no room for them then have to rid of them before college since we know how small dorms are and i couldn't take them it's already small enough :worried: .

besides, i use varying dumbells alot :(. for my warmup set of curling i could use 20s but for my max for, lets say, shoulder press, i'd need 50 lb ones. :worried: so i'd basically need an entire set. since id rotate from 20-50 overall.

him: why are you all scared? you know you dont have a test! ::george bush monkey laugh::

Mr Kelly?! He's still teaching? Is he still gay?

yes he is STILL teaching and he is :rainbow: er than ever. he is SO old and SO slow...75% of the class (no exaggeration) is dead asleep by the end of every class. I'm only awake because i am around a bunch of friends and we just laugh the whole class and talk while he lectures to himself since he can't teach. Even when we pay attention we understand nothing...he is the type of math teacher that SKIPS showing steps, something you NEED to do if you are TEACHING this foreign material to students. He will go from F'(x) =(1/x)-1/a/x-2 then the next line he writes something like X = 3, 1 and everyone has no idea wtf is going on. oh well, i guess i should still like him since he served...even though another unjust war isnt something to be proud of :worried:

lol, wtf??

How am I going to squat with 200lb dumbells on each of my shoulders?

Talk to the owner of the gym and see if he will work with you.
A guy at my gym lubricates the exercize bikes twice a week and cleans certain areas for a free membership.
See if they will set something up like that for you. You will have to go to the gym to do it and you can work out after...

you can't squat with dumbells... wtf, how much do you squat? 50 lbs?

tell ur -parents to quit being faggots and threaten them that ull stop trying in school and become a fuckup, just quit listening to them, they have u pussywhiped right now, undo the leash and join the fucking gym u weak bitch

i HAVE talked to the manager at the gym. I was paying 34.99$ for 3 months membership (i assumed i'd stop and not care about lifting once school came around but since i started in july i can't stop) and i talked the guy down to $25 down for some "continuation fee" (bullshit) and 25$/month. that is a really really good price (which is why my parents are even CONSIDERING it) oh well i'm going in about 2 hours with my dad to the gym to talk to the guy and see what's gonna happen ::nervous::

You can get a job there, get extra cash, and get a free membership if you're an employee.

asked about a job there for the same reasons. I have to be 18 to work there supposedly. The guy said 1) i had to be 18 and 2) they had enough workers as of right now anyways. :worried:

fyi, it's not hard to know if enderje is being sarcastic. you can tell because he's posting.

and if your parents think a gym membership is a waste because you "only" go 4 times a week...they are truly insane. do they expect you to motherfucking live there?

yeah lol i'm starting to realize that about his posts :verygood:

but yeah...we aren't rich or anything. Have 2 brothers in college + me after this year. Lots of expenses with little income. And we have 5 cars + 5 insurance policies. So that is alot of crap we have to pay for. :worried: . 25$/month may seem very insignificant to many on the boards but it is a serious expense where i am. :verygood:
they don't expect me to LIVE there but my dad said i should go 5-6 times/week. Maybe take sunday off OR go on sundays and take one day during my weekdays when i have lots of AP/honors hw off. its too much though but i guess i could go a day or 2 more and do cardio/sauna situps and pushups so i don't mess up my muscles. I dont do cardio as of now so i dont know

how old are you.. i can't believe some people can't afford to pay for their own shit.. my parents haven't given me a dime since i was 16 years old..

the real swole guys suck cack if they have to in order to stay swole.
do what you gotta do my friend :rainbow:

17. I have a job. I DO work part time + take lots of hard classes at school. The retarded part is i OFFER to pay for my own gym membership with money from my work but my parents won't accept it. They want to pay for it...but then they turn it around n say its not worth it :worried: . So i usually end up spendin cash on some clothes, fixing my crap car (oil changes, tires, etc.), and lunch money.

If you eat the shit at your cafeteria don't even waste the money on the gym membership. Diet is 80% of the equation.

usually just get some chicken nuggets for fewest carbs - other options ALL have alot of fat/bread/potatoes in them - fries/burritos/sandwiches

i slack so much on my diet  i mean, it IS important...but i don't see it as crucial as it is (even though i KNOW it is).
