there's this cute black chick i've met a couple of times recently, will see her again. she's actually a mix, her father's indian. don't see that very often. she's from jamaica. love the accent.

If she's a female that needs to be set up by her friend then she's probably waiting by the phone with a tissue in one hand and a quart of ice cream in the other wondering why you haven't called her yet. In my experience women who need to be set up by their friends - there is a reason. Haven't been on one date yet that was a setup that I couldn't point out a massive flaw after an hour.

Shit, if a guy wouldn't return my call w/in 24 hours I would hit delete and no more talking... period. I was a single mom with four kids busting my ass to support us and the ex from hell and I still ALWAYS found the time to give the respect of a return fone call/text/IM/email (one is acceptable) to acknowledge the other person. If for no other reason than to let them know I got their message and would get back when I had the time.
No need to play games at this juncture. Games like this piss MOST WOMEN off...

My justification for not calling within 2 was based on getting the number on a Friday. I didn't want:
a.) her to think I was so presumptuous to assume she wouldn't already have plans for the weekend...even though I knew she didn't.
b.) I didn't want her to think I didn't already have plans for the weekend...even though I didn't.
Now we can both pretend we each have bigger fish to fry...even though we don't. LOL.

i also hate getting voicemails when calling chicks back after i get their number. i've learned to not leave messages and say something stupid, because i am quite possibly the 2nd worst message leaver in the world (next to John Favaure in Swingers).
i text them before, and when they text me back i know they're at the phone and i call

Maybe the cards fell right and I've been lucky enough to have relationships that blossomed out of friendships?
if two people feel the connection and the connection that I am talking about is the type that the planets align to, neither would have a problem receiving a call the next day.
If such feeling isn't apparent after the first tense brief moments after introducing themselves, one should realize that it wasn't meant to be

That's the best way to meet people...through other people. The personas and masks are off....and its much easier to connect. you don't have to push through as hard. most happy couples(married and non married) i've met were introduced through friends. it's nice to not have to deal with all the bullshit..but it's not always that easy

I just think the road to a successful relationship is becoming friends with them BEFORE becoming intimately involved with them. That way, you know some of their quirkiness and and oddities before the relationship gets in full swing.
Again, maybe I was lucky and never had the experience of having to do the dating thing.
