Grip and pulled neck muscle problems with Shrugs solution

I think I have found the solution for those days when my grip is not up to par and straps are not available..

Use the Standing calf machine if you got one..
Ours goes way up on the weight stack to like 200+ lbs...

Also solved the pulled neck muscles issue due to instability using DB shrugs.
Not and exclusive solution to using DD/DB shrugs and upright rows etc but I thought it was interesting..

I read an article by Stuart McRobert who said he used to advocate these but now believes they are an unsafe exercise. I will have to look up the reason but it probably has to do with spinal compression.
