Got THE BEST Christmas gift ever....

I have been having a VERY hard time with my eldest (female child, a little over 12) because of all the nonsense between her father and I. Long story short, not only were my kids gotten SHITTY gifts from the inlaws, but they were not allowed to keep the gifts they got (only "theirs" when they are with dad) from them but no one cared to take them Christmas shopping or gift making for their mother and money is SUPERTIGHT over here.

I told them from the word GO - I dont want anything storebought from them.

After my kids got themselves ready to head out, I draw a nice hot bubble bath for myself. God, how I LOVE a good bubblebath! My oldest came in and insisted on not only bathing me, but washing my hair!!!! It felt good to have her fuss over me in such a loving fashion.... THE BEST Christmas gift I'd EVER gotten.... Didn't cost a cent but I will remember it forever.

I want to get back into the tub...

All I could think of was how I used to bathe her when she was this chubby little girl, long thick hair, splashing the water, playing with her toys, her siblings in the tub and how now she was scrubbing my scalp, rinsing my hair, soaping my back and feet. She was giggling. I was teasing her, "Aren't you going to wash my tuschie? LOL" She was like, "EWWWWWWWwwwwwww MOM!" That's gross.... hehehehehehe I was like, "HEY! One day I am going to be old and grey and YOU will be changing MY DIAPERS!!!@!!!!"

We both laughed.

She put my long curly hair up atop my head with the soap and I quickly made a beard of the bubbles, made them take a pic. If I can... I'll post up. I really am lucky. My kids are truly wonderful. So sad the other side of the family cant see it....

Its all good. My kids are amazing. God, how I feel blessed to have them in my life.

Because my daughter saw me naked?... or because she washed my hair?... as I have done for her about a gazillion times since the second she slid out of me.

I'm sure it was nice and innocent, but I could easily see this as testimony in a child custody case. I'm not trying to be a jerk (and failing at that), I'm just saying what I feel.

I hear you and I have NO PROBLEMS with that ...AT ALL! Matter of fact, I sleep with my kids too. They all have their own beds and I have two of my own (2 pull out couches). The kids insist I sleep WITH THEM!

Feel you, but my attorney is well aware of my situation and there is NOTHING to be used. Matter of fact, up until we split MY EX would shower the kids. He would shower with them and I would comb out their hair (they all have VERY long hair) just made it easier.

He could NEVER even try to go this route. NEVER... as the back lash would make him look like an even bigger moron than he already is.

A therapist once asked me if *I thought* anything was going on between my kids and him (he tried to get me to stop being so close with my kids this way). My exact answer was, "If I thought for one second we wouldn't be sitting here... I would be in county lock up and that motherfucker would be in the morgue." Kind of brought and end to THAT line of questioning.

Well, my kids are boys .Their dad has never walked around naked in front of them except when they wee really little, i even took baths with them when they were babies...but when they got big enough to say whoa! when they saw boobs, thats when it stopped I felt uncomfortable and that was my choice, I just think theres a time when a child should be modest with his/her body. Modesty never hurt anyone... I agree u should raise ur child to appreciate his/her body but I just think a parent of the same gender should set an example with a child on how to dress..because the world is an evil place and we cant always protect them but we can try to teach them self respect

LOL that stopped when we split. The 12 y/o was about 8 or so at the time.

And SoKlueless I understand where you are coming from but what does modesty have to do with me being comfortable naked in front of my children of the same gender? Why should I feel the need to hide my body in front of them? I have an amazing body still, but even if I did not, there will come a time if I do not die young where my daughters will most certainly see me in ways that I saw them as babies... not that I am looking forward to that AT ALL, but still that day may come.

My children are at the cusp of puberty and the last thing I want them to feel is shame at their changing bodies.

I do not feel the need to cover my nudity in the locker room at the gym (where there are other females) then why should I hide my nude body in front of my own daughters? Just doesn't seem to make sense when one views it this way.... does it?

Had I sons, I would most definitely be more discreet if that is what they wanted. Children ALWAYS let a parent know when they are uncomfortable.
