Got my eye on a beretta

I honestly don't know how they think that will lower crime. Its not like gang members give a shit about the law anyway.

don't worry p0ink, there are plenty of dems in the nra, i am one of them. :)

thanks for all the replies. i'd like to have a pistol grip shotgun if i get one.

darktooth, i'll have to check on that beretta.

Anyone who would choose a handgun over a shotgun in a home defense situation is a fool. Period.
I have a large number of firearms at my disposal, but when it comes time to protect the house and family, the 12 gauge with 00 buck gets picked up.

well this is the kind of shit that happens when democrats are in power.

Not to split hairs about this with you or anything brother, but the "Brady Bill" was named after James Brady, who was Press Secretary for Ronald Reagan(a Republican), and the dude(as you know) who was shot in the head by Hinkley during the assassination attempt on Rons life in 1980. It was pushed by the Republicans, mainly Brady's wife Sara, but was signed into law by Bill Clinton in 1993.

My point is this: Political affiliations have nothing to do with why this law was passed. These are the kind of laws that appeal to "soccer moms", and politicians never cease trying to pander to that demographic, for whatever reason. I think that these Woman want the world to be all duckies, bunnies, raindrops & roses, and when they hear shit-laws like this being passed, no matter how USELESS and INEFFECTIVE they may be, they do sound good, so these women naively think they will make the slightest bit of difference on the crime rate when in the real world they make NONE. The Politicains are smart enough to know that these frivilous Bills won't make a difference though, but they cater to voters who are too dumb to know that they will NOT. Either party would've done it in my opinion.

This is what happens when you make decisions based on emotions, and not logic. In my opinion, women do this a lot more than men. Fucked up part about it is, is that these testicle-less Men don't have the cajones to tell them to sit down & shut up for some reason, and that is sometinmes how we end up with laws like these. You can chalk-up the legal drinking age being 21 in all States to the same scenario. Can you say Elizabeth Dole???

shotgun would put out some more damage I think but I like having more moving space with a pistol...some homes are cramped and would offer challenges moving a shotgun

I'm looking at a glock 9mm checking out a few different models as well as some berretta models

It would depend on your intended purpouse for the either the choice of the pistol or shotgun. And the amount of training that you expect to do with either of them.

You haven stated what you wanted the shotgun for...

As a side note there..Txarmyguy.. indicated that he thought the shotgun was too large
for home defense if you had to move around in the home.. If you really had a home intruder your best defense would be to stay in your room and have your love ones beside you. you would have a cell or portable phone in there with you. You stay in your room because the intruder would be coming to you.. were you could have confirmed firing lanes and known point of entry for the bad guy. If you started to seek him out he could suprise you just as easly as you could suprise him..
The things in your house are insured and your lifes not worth the risk for a TV or DVD
