Got into a horrible wreck yesterday...

its funny, just when things are going amazing there's always some shit to completely deflate it. I feel like shit

the worst part? My insurance lapsed a couple of weeks ago. My car is basically totaled i think. Got T-boned and my passenger side doors are completely caved in. Didn't even see it coming it coming

My mom was coming into town to visit, mostly to take care of my grandparents for a bit. She basically called me last minute and told me to pick her up. I was tired as hell from my 1st day at my new job and not really sleeping the night before, on top of working this consulting project im doing all weekend. I got mad at her because she never respects my time and always calls me selfish when i don't help her, and she basically guilted me into picking her up. I was pissed and tired driving the whole way to the airport
she also knew my insurance lapsed, which kinda makes me even more mad. i was only really driving from work and back, and locally till i got new coverage. Of course i'm personally accountable for making that decision, but the circumstances are something you beat yourself up over.

she has some bruised ribs...we basically caught all the impact. the other car almost nothing happened to. minor front bumper damage and no injuries

sucks, no idea what to do. have to get a lawyer now, get estimates on the car, which will prolly be all out of pocket.

i'm thankful we're ok...but man, this sucks

it's not her fault, but i do feel bitter about it...because she does things like this all the time.
she's not mean, but she never has consideration for my time and always expects me to drop everything i'm doing. Her priorities are completely fucked up. Blames me for being lazy, yet whenever i'm extremely busy with work or life in general she wants me to stop everything to help her with the most trivial shit...whether from a distance or when she's in town.

She comes down to visit every once in awhile, and i always find out 3-4 hours before she comes down (she works for the airlines). She called me at noon today to let me know..and i have a ridiculously crazy schedule right now. I told her how tired i was, and how mad i was she expected me to drive in the middle of the worst rush hour traffic possible after an incredibly long day.

she constantly pulls the "you're so selfish" card and loves to bring up the fact how much she's helped me. This was just a manifestation of that bullshit. I've never been in an accident in my life.

Damn sorry this happened to you. I am real glad you are OK! Unfortunately people think if they even drive a block that they are "ok" I will never get on the road without insurance it is just way too risky. How old was your car? Do you have much left to pay on it?

They were at fault, but legally without witnesses, it's mine because i made a left turn onto a main street....basically i was making a left turn to go onto the expressway(there's no traffic signal there). had to cross 2 lanes. This was in the middle of rush hour, so there was traffic. The guy on the closest lane to me stopped to let me go, so he wouldn't block the left turn lane (there was a gap between him and the cars in front of him). I inched up to see the other lane, and it was clear, so i started to head to the ramp.
As i was driving all of a sudden we felt the impact out of nowhere. we were basically 3/4ths of the way there when we got hit. neither me or my mom saw the car

apparently the driver who hit us must have went from behind the guy who stopped, and around his car into the other lane and sped up.

no witnesses to verify, the guy who let us go never stopped.

so..i'm basically fucked. i have an 2004 audi a4. if i'm LUCKY...there was no frame damage, and i can just replace the doors (maybe 5-6 grand for that and a panel or two). The question is the bottom of the frame, which didnt have much damage...but could affect the frame. if the frame is fucked up, i'm really really fucked. for now im worried about my license. i basically have 2 jobs right now, both great opportunities...and without transportation at least one of them might be in jeopardy. we'll see.

I think that if he's on the road uninsured, the other insurance company won't have to pay because his being there is illegal in the first place. Charges can be filed against the other driver, but there's no obligation for the accident to be covered.

Yep! I never assume there are any good drivers on the road. I always take precautions in certain situations because I know there are a lot of idiots on the road not paying attention.

I'm feeling alot better about it. just was kind of in shock. we could have easily died....but we didn't. I'm not focusing on limitations, just problem solving right now.

i'm so focused on my hustle right now that nothing is going to stop me. car is a car. my goal is to do so well with my business venture that i'll have a more badass car than before.

my boss saw how hard i was trying(i have to take 2 buses..public transportation BLOWS here) and she picked me up this morning, even though she lives across the bridge in south beach..awesome chick. even though i'm new everyone was offering me to give me a ride and shit in the mornings. my new job is the shit. i can dress however i want, everyone is young, if i have a shitty month i still walk away with a check...i work with a ton of hotties, and everyone is like fam. not to mention i walk outside and im in the middle of everything on Lincoln road. makes you forget about the negative shit pretty quickly

My sis was in LA and the guy that smashed into her was a plastic surgeon and she was on her way there for a consult with a plastic surgeon.
My sister was knocked out cold with the top part of her forehead cut off, but my Mom was conscience and she said the guy that hit them got out of his bmw and had pissed himself.
Car accidence are shocking!
We don't/can't sue in Canada, but she was forced to sue and made a killing on the law suit. But she almost died!
