Got Deadz????

After recenly failing last week with 500lbs on deads raw I decided to really hit them hard this week instead of doing power cleans. Although I didn't do them first I got some good numbers

Lat pulldowns close-grip 180x10, 245x8, 245x8

Bentover rows 225x8, 225x8

Deads: 225x8, 315x6 felt lighter than 225, 405x4 this was tough with no wraps since my hand is still tender from having no calouse on one side, 455x2 this was easy and a nice strong lockout, and 500x1 could have maybe squeezed out another rep but I was happy, although I use wraps:rolleyes: . At one point though I was using almost all the plates one side of my gym and someone asked how much longer would it take:o Pretty nice to hear a kid say " Due I think the bar is gonna break" And "I don't think the bar is suppose to bend like that"

shrugs with 315x12,12,15

Not too bad since before last week the last time I deadlifted was in January;)

Good shit bro...

Out of curiousity how big is your waste?
And how big are your waste around your hips?
I'm kind of curious if there is any correlation to having larger hips and potential for pulling greater weight.

KEEP UP the good work!

my waist is about a 32-34 depending on how much i diet, but I have to say my legs and ass are pretty big. I mean not ghetto booty big, but running back big. I weighed in at 192lbs today @ 5'7-8

Well your ass is one of the prime movers in any deadlift. Squatting and deadlifting lend themselves to MAD big booty :) But the ladies definitely dig it.

i cant wait to boost my dead numbers, 350 is my 1rm irght now

you'll get there with time. I stated doing deads last year cause needsize posted his thoughts, before that I would do them every great once and a while

i wanna attempt 400 for a 1rm sometime this week. just gotta get psyched for it

just make sure you warm up for it properly. I usually will use doubles as warmup sets, I just didn't think I was going that high this week. Make sure you do some ab work really helps stabalize the lift especially if you don't use a belt like me

i work my abs a lot, hold a 35 on my chest and do as many slantboard crunches as i can, then do legs raises. i have a strong torso, and i dont use a belt, or gloves, or wraps. just chalk.

Careful guys don't overdo it with the deads. I talked with some powerlifters in my gym and they said it not good to do deads every week. they said they'll do deads every 3rd or 4th week and train their lower back by hypers, good mornings, reverse leg extensions.

Lord Assman! :)

Seriously, that's some nice deadliftin'. That you did those pulls after your lats were zonked makes the deads pretty damn awesome.

You're one strong-ass boxer. I'd hate to be one of your opponents!

little chris I only dead once every thrre weeks when I focus on deads, but other than that I do power cleans and gm's

Gludukat I am probably the strongest boxer you will find, but to be honest I look like a boxer gone wrong. I mean I am out of proportions so bad for normal boxers my coach wants me to stop lifting altogether

And I thought my 1x315 pr this week was good. haha

Guess I have a lot of food to eat and a lot of growing to do. :D

Nice work, LS!

I only deadlift in competition, so I know what you're saying about how you can gain strength in a move by working its parts, as opposed to the full lift all the time.

Love the commentary..:D
