you need to train the shit out of that nigga and get him socialized early to other dogs or else he'll yank your arm out of socket every time there's another dog within 50 yards of you. Don't let this breed become "the alpha". If he does, you're done......you minewell let him sleep in your bed and you on the floor cause you will be his bitch. This kind of breed responds to an alpha male leader which is what you will "have" to be if you're going to remotely control this animal. I've seen rots wedge their way inbetween their owners and the g/f's, basically saying thanks for bringing this ho by, now go fuck off somewhere else while I handle this business. Don't be one of those guys. It's so sad to watch.

Best dogs I have ever had. I have a male around a year old and a female around 4 years old. The female is the most loving, gentle giant you will ever see and the male (who is going to be huge, his dad is 180 lbs) is just a big goof, but verrrrry protective when it comes to my 14 year old daughter. The female is around 125 lbs and the male is around 105 but hasnt begun to fill out yet. They are incredibly smart and trainable and they have great personalities but distinctly different from the male to the female. Oh yeah, get used to buying a lot of dog food. I go through a 50 lb bag about every 2-3 weeks.
Like any dog (or a child) they're really only as good as the owner (parent) and the amount of work you put in training and establishing structure. If you don't have a lot of dog experience, particularly with an intelligent and dominant breed like a Rottie, then think about putting him into puppy obedience school. It's far, far easier to start out the right way than to try to undo bad (or no) training down the road.

you go through 50 pounds in 2 weeks? Damn, homeslice eats doesn't he? hehe. My buddy actually cooks lentils for his rot and black lab. Say's it's like their favorite fucking food, maybe even more than meat. I don't know how he cooks them, I think he actually may throw in some other stuff too, like potatoes and some chunks of meat. But he swears that just plain lentils get attacked by them two. I want a dog so bad it's irritating, but current living conditions won't allow it and I'm planning on studying in japan for a year next year.....so no dog's until after I get back. :sad:
