Hi all, this a message from JNuts that i promissed to post for the man: he is unable to post from his location, so here goes, and cheers to him for his efforts and his sacrifices in the biggest way imaginable.
I figured it was appropriate that I provide a good luck shout out to my darling bride!
Thanks to Chef for the relay - I'm sans EF from my location.
Moe - I love ya to death - I'm very proud of you and what you've done so far!
The last few days before a contest can be a stressful experience. Check that... it's not just a few days before that can be stressful - it's from the moment the decision is made to make the fateful journey of competing.
You've worked hard in the previous months in many ways. Getting up early - before the kids are awake - to get in the cardio. Eating a strict diet that others think is unusual. Sick of chicken? Getting in that extra cardio session at night. Hitting the gym in between taking the kids to school, picking them up, taking them to gymnastics, horse lessons, etc....
The last 30 days you've been on your own. I've been gone and you've survived (barely
) the low carb craziness that tends to kick in at the end.
As these last few days wind down, I think there are a couple of important things to remember!
Even though this is a contest, the winners are not just the ones that stand on the podium. The "trophy" of the moment is intensely personal. You've spent months preparing for an event that few people have the guts to do. You've preserved, made gains, and learned something about yourself. You continue to push the envelope of what you do and you continue to learn from the journey that it requires. Sometimes it is the journey that teaches us the most. You’ve certainly learned a lot!
No one in this world wishes you bigger success than I. I'm very proud of what you've done to get this far. Anything extra that happens on stage is icing on the cake.
You have my admiration, my love, my heart, and my soul!
Stay strong - in a few days you'll have something else to add to your life's experience!
