Ok after reviewing it I can clearly see how this could definately be a very benificial supplement for me.

Several questions though. Since it increases insulin sensitivity while at the same time lowering insulin wouldn't a high carb meal blunt it's insulin lowering activity?

Also, I eat fairly low carbs throughout the week then load up on weekends. So I shouldn't take it during the week when on low carbs yes?(Don't wanna pass out or get really tired and feel like shit.)

Another thing is that since it can make people tired and I don't want to be tired in the weekends should I just take it along with a huge meal prior to going to sleep on the weekends? I know with insulin sleeping it out of the question but this supplement is obviously different and I am taking in a lot of carbs as well with the meal so I should be ok yes?

A good dose is?

Last thing. Cheapest place to get it. Thx everyone.

I know some of your are probably saying, "Where has this kid been? This has been out for some time now." I like to know something works and not just think it does. After hearing the scientific aspects about it along with too many positive anecdotal evidence I'm willing to give it a shot. It's not expensive it is? Don't need to be spending extra cash right now.

dont know about your question on dosing but I got mine at the af store relativley cheap. 19.95 for 60 100mg caps, not bad.

p.s you have pm!

Actually you get 100 100mg caps for $19.95. AF is the only place I know of to get capped r-ALA...

I have not gotten the r-ala, yet :). But AF is a quality site and has quality service.

By the way I noticed that AF has a special on the r-ala, it looks like 12 for the price of 10, for the super saver types :)

No, because when it pushes the carbs into your muscles it keeps the insulin levels low. The whole idea is that you can eat cabs and it won't allow you to get high insulin spikes.

It does not make you tired. Quite the opposite it will give you more energy because your muscles will have more nutrient in them.

Use 1 with each meal during the week and 2 on the super carb up meals.

im pretty new to r-ala...and i follow a low carb diet (~100 g's) per day...so would 300-400 mgs be a good dosage? thanks.

I have gone through many bottle's of r-ala and like it alot. I don't have the money for it right now but when I do I'll be purchasing more, that's for sure.

AF is the place to get it. Good service, quick delivery.

r-ALA or ALA will only make you tired if you do not eat enough carbs for the amount of ALA and end up with low blood sugar. Check out this thread: http://boards.elitefitness.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=166238

r-ALA is supposedly 3x as effective as racemix(s and r) ALA. I just started using r-ALA , but have been taking 300-600mg ALA with meals for a couple months and do see a difference when taking 1200mg+ per day.

I actually dropped bodyfat using Insulin and ALA for 1 month.
