yes and no....anybody can beat anybody on anyday-true. But it wasn't B.J.'s turn to win, he had the fight from the get go. I didn't see Gomi land any crucial strikes and he wasn't going to submit B.J. any time soon. Trying to submit Penn is like sitting in a rocking chair, it'll give you something to do but you won't get anywhere. B.J. was in control for most of that fight, he spent about 2/3 of the fight on Gomi's back. Gomi never posed a threat to BJ at any time during the fight from what I could see. Gomi also never got to his GnP game going like he is so famously known for. I was really impressed with Gomi's defense though. Some of the best back defense I've ever seen....Check out Penn vs. Uno II-it's a good one, Uno did a great job of GnP on Penn and managed to draw a tie out of it.
It hasn't been that long since B.J. has fought, didn't he fight back in June or July? Anyway, I'm a Gomi fan. It's just that I think B.J. Penn is a half a step ahead of him. I would like to see Gomi fight Matt Hughes and knock him out. Rock-n-Roll
