Going to see a friend in the hospital- crashed his vette through a fence, barbed wire

seatbelt.

Not always do they save lives....They can kill as well!

I lost two pals who both were wearing their seat belts... Seems the Chevy Jimmy's had some problems with their "rip stitch" brand belts a few year's ago!

When barbed wire attacks....

Seriously, I've strung barbed wire and when you are stretching it
you hear this poing ping sound and are just waiting for it to snap
and come back and slice you..

Nasty stuff. Especially when it's brand new..

I concur. It's been awhile since I built a barbed wire fence, but I remember being a bit anxious about the "poing-ping" sounds myself. I always turned my face away for the final stretch so I wouldn't catch it in the eye.

I had a couple of runs snap on that final click of the cable stretcher.

They missed me by several inches and one wrapped around a tree trunk about 5 inches to my left and tore up the bark bad.

I'd rather take my chances with a seatbelt then getting ejected from a car. because that's what happens most of the time and it's not pretty.

Horrible story, driving is by far the most dangeous thing we do. People in sports cars tend to be a road menace, hence their insurance rates.

Very sad story. His life just got flushed.

Yep, bad shit. If I ever do it again, I'll use safety glasses.

I can't imagine catching a taught wire through the mouth at speed. Damn. Damn, damn, damn. :worried:

When you go to visit him, ask him if it stings as bad as it sounds.

Brother in law was thrown by a horse at speed into wire.
Tore up his back..

Nasty stuff. No wonder they use it in prison fencing..
