Many of you know that I Have been sick for about a month and still have a long road ahead of me. However I am not one to sit around so i have decided to go back to school while I am sick and have nothing else to do with my spare time.

Massage Therapy is what I am going to take. Just wondering if anyone here is one or knows more about it. I chose to do this just to have something else under my belt and the classes are only 10-12 months

Here is a list if things I will be learning
Massage Therapy Program Includes:

Reflexology
Aromatherapy
Shiatsu
Spa Information
Chair Massage
Sports Massage
Professional Ethics
Anatomy and Physiology
Kinesiology
Pathology
Effects and Benefits of Massage
Consultation and Assessment
Classification of Massage Movements
Application of Massage Techniques
Contraindications
Business Practices
CPR and First Aid
Introduction to: Sports Massage, Reflexology, Shiatsu, Manual Lymph Drainage, and Prenatal Massage.

cheers to you and i hope you have a speedy recovery...if you don't mind me asking what are you sick with?

Well thanks you very much ;)

I am hoping in a few years if I like what I am doing to maybe open a spa with my sister in law who is a hair stylist, nail tech, makeup artist just to name a few. Just thinking in the future

One day I'm gonna go back and finish when I figure out what I want to do. I've already got my associate's and over 120 hours. I tried nursing school but it wasn't for me.

Nah...I like you. As a matter of fact, a certain noob who has recently plagued EF with her nonsense could take lessons from you, on how to be classy, witty and hawt all at the same time.

Well, except for the hawt part....I think she's probably a fatty, but thats just my opinion.

p.s. Your a good kid :)

Yeah, but you knew he was going to go back to crime. Are you only sad because he was played by Buscemi? Or did you actually like the character?

Good for you. It's good to keep your mind occupied, and those classes look to be worth it. :)

i was so happy that you were going to get smarter...and then i heard the "massage" bit

boody hell, what a letdown :(

I was thinking I would practice on your neck first. I need to know how long it takes to pop ones eyes out of there head. So what do u think about that?

Full service spa?
Have someone out back doing tune ups & detailing while they're in there.

They prolly all wanna work for someone. It's better if you're the someone they wanna work for.

My buddy has been doing this for over 20 years. He studied at the Boulder college of massage therapy and enjoyed it so much that he went on to become a certified postural integrator as well as traveling the world to find out everything he could about the healing arts and deep tissue bodywork.

What started his twenty year exploration into the healing arts was a horrific car crash. The doctors had told him that he'd never regain full use of his neck ever again. After many second opinions and no further luck he stumbled on deep tissue bodywork. After 10 sessions his neck was in better shape than before the accident and he bore absolutely no sign of it at all there after.

He's had an amazing effect on so many peoples lives, its quite astonishing how he can relieve a persons ailments and tune them in spiritually in just a few sessions. One of the few people I truly believe has a gift of touch that transcends reason.

Best of luck to you on your journey.

Wow I love stories like this. Thank you

do you plan on after graduating the class to work in a office or be an independant type of massage therapist?
if you do it independantly remember that some weeks you will make more money than others...and are you really ready to have big fat girls or guys with hairy ass backs ask you for one??? there are pros and cons with every job and before going and spending money on the courses you need to think if that is really the profession for you

I will never know how I feel about it until I try it. I can not sit around and waste my time wondering if I will like it and it was the right step for someone like me, I just have to give it a try. However I have not got as far as to figure out if I will independent or with a Company. AS for the over weight people I will come across... That part does not bother me. Everyone has there flaws even myself. You never know who I can inspire.

I have to wait until May to sign up. I look at it this way. I can get some books and get myself ready.

I am sure I will have to practice on a few people to get some hours under my blet, so I may be asking you guys for help.
