Never been but don't forget to take some pics of your adventures 
I've seen most of the country. My favorite cities:
The Andalucia Region (Granada, Seville, Cordoba Toledo) for the culture (the Moor influence, food, etc. and along the coast for the beach.
Galicia - Absolutley beautiful; nice people; very country compared to Madrid and Barcelona.
Bilbao - friendly people; the Guggenheim Museum is awesome; good food; FYI - avoid political conversations
Madrid - Not my favorite city; but a great place to start if you have never been to Spain before.
Barcelona - had the best time there. fun place; right on the Mediterranean Sea; Reminds of section of New York I use to hang out at; nice people; very artsy. Favorite city in Spain.

My Spanish isn't as good as it use to be. I can read it a lot better than I can speak it. I don't have anyone to talk to on a regular basis. I need to start watching spanish films, reading El Pais, hang out in the etc. I would like to grow in my company and getting my Spanish where it use to be will help a lot. The only time I speak Spanish now is to help someone with directions.
LOL. I had a taste for "la polla" way before I went to Spain.

Barcelona- its pretty wild there...you can definitely get into some trouble if youre not careful..people are snotty and can be unfriendly towards Americans...if so, just tell em to fuck off..
Madrid's- its ok, but it's like a damn zoo...crowded and hot in the summertime...i saw a bullfight there which was cool...
Sevilla- pretty cool place in southern Spain...have some friends there...you can party pretty hard there...the women are fantastic..Christopher Columbus's tomb is there supposedly..
Cordoba- cool to visit for a few hours...you can see some old Moorish sites there and eat some good tapas...
Toledo- very cool, medieval city...dont stay there for too long, as there is only so much to do...cool old churches and synagogues and museums..
Granada- probably my favorite city in Spain...lots of friendly people, good food, and is very historic...you can party pretty fucking hard there too...go visit the Alhambra..its this huge old fortress/city thing at the top of a huge hill..very cool city.
while youre there you might as well take a bus down to Portugal...Portugal is very cheap...you can get a huge 4 course meal for like $15....you can hit up a beach town called "Lagos"...its awesome...a lot of hot European and Aussie girls visit there...you can definitely have a good time in Lagos...
hit up the Red Eye Bar and Joe's Garage...very cool bars..lots of hot women...
Spain is awesome- definitely my favorite place in the world...
one thing you gotta remember to do is savor the ladies, man...Spanish women are the best in the world...great lovers, and they know how to take care of a man...if you hook up with a Spanish lady, consider yourself lucky..

have no idea. Familiar w/ the area, but never been there.
Whatever ya do before ya travel, just do a search (Google, Yahoo, etc) so ya familiarize yourself w/ the place beforehand.

You are going to love Spain... My order of preference:
Barcelona (alround best city, food, girls, nightlife etc. etc... tourists have to be careful of thieves)
Mallorca ( a nice laid back island that still ahs some good nightlife)
Ibiza (the party CAPITAL of the world... a bit too full-on even for me)
Granada (great sightseeing...)
You might also want to look at the French riviera also as it is close (Nice is my favorite)
...after doing the south coast of Spain I ended up going to Africa for 2weeks.

but i went to alhambra in granada - thats where the puke story happened (i think iv posted it, long story short, my bro shat in a trashcan right in front of me cause we got diareah from some porkchops, then i puked all over the entire bathroom and clogged up every drain with puke, then on the way up to the restourant (bathroom was downstairs) i threw up again, in some random guys wine glass)

madrid was a cool euro city, - nice city, shit to do, but no real historical character (other than museums and such (of course just imo) )

I will be there end of August/early september.
Starting in Paris, then heading to Nice where i will hire a car and drive through the south of France to Barcelona. From Barcelona i will fly to Ibiza for 9 days and party my ass off.
Been to Spain twice before......beautiful country and awesome people.
Barcelona and Madrid are awesome.......Madrid has heaps of character and is a really lively city.
Malaga, Alicante and valencia are all nice..........San Sebastian is a great resort town to the north.
