goddam mosh pits

You'd think I would have learned my lesson by now that my old and britle ass should stay out of the pit at shows, but I just can't stay away from them. Like a paper clip to a magnet.

Well, last night I got trampled in the pit, my left ankle and foot got stepped on in two different places, same ankle and foot I fractured last year. It's fucking swolen right now and I'm having a hard time standing or walking. Fuck, I hope I don't have to wear that stupid space boot again.

ya what at a hilary duf concert u fuckin pussy

We'd usually stick to the outer perimeter of the pits, that way we could help keep it contained and help up those who got knocked to the ground.

The more underground death and black metal shows never seem to have a big thing for violent pits, at least in the midwest WI/IL area. The pits that did form were rather "polite" pits, lol, where people totally helped each other out and stuff. No punching or anything like that, either.

:cow:

this was a civil pit too, however, when I fell there were several people behind me that I grabbed on to and knowcked down with me, making a large bottle neck. Too many bodies, and feet in short proximity.

Nobody wants to admit it, but it's the damn creatine induced rage that's doing this to people!

back '81 or so I was into the punk scene
but a couple of us lifted weights
we ruled the mosh pits

I particularily remember when a band known as the "red hot chili peppers" came to town
bear in mind this was '82
and REM in '81

what show was it?

I hate it when I am at a show trying to enjoy it and some dudes start a pit right near me.

some local bands

if you want to "watch" the band stay toward the back, or the very, very front (although this one is not always safe). Everything else is pit territory. Specially at punk shows.

swollen and wrapped in a brace. It hurts the most when i first stand up, once I'm I can get around fairly well with some discomfort.

I prefer the very front, it is draining, and you get sweaty as fuck, but worth it. I was just at KoRn and basically 1 row of people back from the railing the entire time, close enough that the mosh pits really didn't affect me much.

I did get a wicked calf cramp though that night from pivoting hard off of one leg.
