Glutamine timing

Ok I take about 5-10grams of Glutamine in the morning 30-40min after breakfast and I've started taking Glutamine right after lifting then I do 20 min of cardio and have a postworkout shake. Should I take Glutamine right after lifting or just do the cardio then Post shake then Glutamine or is what I'm doing now fine???
Also what is the difference between Glutamine powder and Glutamine peptides??? Thanks

Peptides are 3 times more absorbable than regular l-glutamine.

I would take it before workout, and in b/w meals. I prefer to take it on an empty stomach when cutting.

Glutamine is (certainly) very useful when cutting (especially, as riskybizz007 said, for the cardio-in-the-morning-on-an-empty-stomach)
IMAO it is not worth it when bulking

Glutamine peptides are exactly that, no matter where you buy them IMO.

When bulking and you're eating more than enough protein, eating every 2.5-3 hours big meals, where does glutamine fit in any of this? Protein will be very high, there's really no need for glutamine at this point.

I take Glutamine before workout, after workout, before going to bed (30 min after last meal).

I don't do cardio and weight training in the same session. But if I did, I would take my Glutamine shake after the entire workout.

Glutamine has proven itself to me to do very few things. One of the few things it has proven is to be anticatabolic. To take glutamine after a workout is not taking advantage of its anticatabolic properties. You have to take before if you want it to serve that purpose.

Anthrax, you're the one w/ all the studies. Are there conflicting studies about Glutamine and GH levels?

Sorry riskybizz007, I don't have any studies about it....

But the L-Glutamine incresing GH release by 20000000% (as seen in most ads) is not credible!
I have never heard any serious scientist saying L-Glutamine is a powerful anabolic sups
it is anti catbolic (that is proven) which is good enough for a simple amino acid

it is just like GABA who was supposed to increase GH
but, as studies said you should take huge amount of it and not orally (it does poorly cross the barin barrier)

thanks for the info.

I've also read in studies, i having this debate about glutamine in another board, and how 1 study indicated glutamine gets degraded at room temperature. In hospitals where they use Glutamine as well, study showed it had degraded a substantial amount b/c it was exposed to room temps for a period of time (not sure how long), and they were suppossed to be administered IV.

Never thought about it, but the same must be true about glutamine we use as well. How long has yours been sitting on your shelf? And in the manufacturers shelf? Maybe like BUD, we need to have a born on date? lol, or might have to refrigerate like we do flax.
