glucose as in dextrose? I know you will need carbs when you want to lift, as long as you have carbs in your system you really don't need this before. If you want to use it after for an insulin spike (if you have enough to create one) you can. It will help you replenish glycogen stores in your muscles. I find it much easier to just buy a big bucket of dextrose instead though.
