Giving up alcohol

Ack, I've finally decided to give up alcohol whilst I try to cut over the next 12-16 weeks. The problem is I find it REALLY hard to enjoy going out to nightclubs etc and chatting to girls without having a bit of dutch courage. Granted a make a prick out of myself when i do either but I just don't have the guts to either dance, chat girls up or even completely relax. Generally I find I just want to go home a lot earlier where as I'd really like to get out of this habit. Reaching my goals is THE most important thing for me right now but I refuse to stay in every weekend and miss out. Oh yea did I mention I'm at university too so it's REALLY hard to resist the drinking but i'm sure i can. Anyway i'm hoping at the end of cutting my confidence will be sky high and i'll be able to talk to whoever i want and generally just lighten up. It's just until then I really would like to know just how to have a good time clubbing with my friends etc, even if they are drunk! lol :)
 
true that, its tough but well worth it. The hard part isnt talking to chics sober, but you can't hook up with ones that have been drinking cuz then you might feel like a bit of a dirtbag, at least i would.

Dieting and alcohol don't mix, so, I'm sorry to say, you will have to choose one or the other. If you want to achieve your goals, you will have to quit drinking. Plus, you can go out and drink a diet coke pretending it's mixed w/ something, I have never seen a woman question a guy about his drink unless it was just part of the convo. I guess what you need to look at is priorities, what is more important to you?.........

I'm in the same boat as you man...so far I have made it about 4 weeks. I have been hitting up plenty of bars still, but now just have water or a cigar (don't inhale) and that relaxes me. I have to say that I don't miss the hangovers the next morning!
Good luck to you...it takes a lot of will power

this might be terrible advice, but GHB allows you to get drunk with only a capful of the liquid, so you could be a sloppy dude with no inhibitions like all your boys without all the carbs and muscle devastating booze. Its also one of the most popular date rape drugs though, so the line between getting a good drunk off it and blacking out, pissing yourself and even dying is probably pretty close. A liter goes for about 200- 250 i think, and thats a lot of capfuls.
 
Clarence Bass feeling deprived is the surest path to failure. I think if you give up drinking you will miss it less after a while. Alternately, you could drink when you go out, just limit it to a couple of light beers and thats it. Bending a little sometimes keeps you from breaking. GL
 
Mr. X is right, drinking and dieting dont mix. But if you decide you do "need" a drink, Vodka is about as "healthy" as you can get, alcohol-wise.

You'd be better off using something like weed, or GHB instead. Fonz has made several posts on GHB worth checking out.
 
I just finished my first week of ckd.... I'm at ucsb so its not exactly easy to be sober round here... I FEEL FOR YA! I'm going to hold out for 6 more weeks though. GO ME!
 
yea im starting a cycle in a week or 2 not sure yet as i need some more test. and yea i just had my last night out yesterday. this is gonna be hard but im sayin its better for my job and my body. who knows maybe ill like it and never go back. good luck to all that are trying and pray for me lol
 
After having been on a roller coaster ride with my BF% over the past 7 years or so, one day I decided to sit down and analyze the different variables in my life at various times when I was leaner or fatter. I considered type of diet, type of workout routine, type of cardio routine, macronutrient % breakdown, stress, sleep... you name it. I think you see where this is going... I was surprised to find that the Number 1 most important variable that determined my level of leaness/blubberness was ALCOHOL intake.

Think about it. I'd guess that 99% of guys with chiseled 6-packs don't drink (that other 1% are genetic freaks that I hate with a passion). I stopped drinking. I'm much leaner now, and getting leaner everyday. good luck
