Giving the gift of Life?

Hey Guys,

We have a blood drive on Monday. Boss wants 100% volunteer participation (welcome to the machine). Does anyone know of problems giving blood in middle of cycle? Even if ok to give will it hinder results and if so how long? Also, what are some of the acceptable excuses for not giving blood? Funny responses on that part of the question very much expected and encouraged. Thanks guys.

You should just say you're on medication and leave it at that. If they push it just pick one. Anti-depressants is popular. Of you could just say you have a cold or flu.

LOL. What a dumb fuck he is. There are tons of reasons people cannot give blood. And how does he know if you give it or not? Does he have nothing better to do than monitor who gives blood?

Years ago I gave blood regularly but once I got into bodybuidling I used to hate our yearly blood drive at work. The nurses would always stop me and go "you have really great viens, we could get a needle in their really easy." I would eventually the 3rd or 4th time they stopped me go, "Ma'am I am lean 240 lbs and exceptional vascularity... don't you think it is possible, and this is by no means and admission, that there is something in my bloodstream that you may not want the people receiving transfusions to get without a prescription?" Then you get the replies of "Oh, yeah I see what you mean... nevermind. Have a nice day."

2nd that. Plus you may be a dumb ass for believing your boss can make you give blood. Tell him you don't want too. Or you are afraid of needles.

i would suggest telling him you got hepatitis from a tainted blood when you were a kid.

That way he feels bad for asking AND makes him understand how not everyone should be donating anyway
