Gimme Five! Puked during Legs!

I was doing a strength routine (posted 2 months ago) for the last two months. Bench, dead went up about 60 lbs !! (yes with AAS) But shape was deterioratng a little. So back today to high volume. 2-day split, 2 on 1 off, etc. Today was chest, back, legs. Done with all the heavy stuff, I was doing curls and leg presses, was in the middle of 2 set of both when the room went black, head spun, up came dinner on my walkman, cellphone. Got up, ran to an open window and ejected twice more out the window. Then fell on the floor a slept like 2 minutes. Woke up to the manager leaning over me. "I'm cool, dude." Went home. :) Lol I have gotten sick on legs, got to the toilet or whatever, this was a whole new experience. Just wanted to brag, I felt pretty pleased with myself.
 
It did tom, but it's ok, the only mess was me, my shirt, and the other two went outside. lol, my gym loves me :worried:

i have one memeory of puking... uSUally i get light headed, queezy, or cant SEE FOR A BIT AFTER A set. but once time i did throw up. i was DOIN DEADS and did 315 for 10 reSTED 10 sECONDs THEN DID 275 FOR 10... 30 seconds LATER I THREW UP ALL THE WATER FROM THE LAst 20 minS... smelled like SHIT TOO.. IF THE owner knew it waS ME HED PROLLY THROW ME OUT :(

I was on eq/tren/var stacks for strength and doing the "basic functions workout" I had listed in my post a while ago. Bench went to 275x8, dead 365x8, push press 155x7 all good gains of about 30-40 pounds on these lifts for 2 months. Stood at 5'10" 210lbs 9.6%BF (I am naturally real lean and weighed 140lbs at 6% when I started lifting 5/03. See old pics and progress threads. Next month will be one year. My initial bench was 110, push press 65, dead 135 on 5/30/03)

Anyway, ... I alternate strength training cycles (WSB, my own basic functions thing, HIT) with mass cycles (HST, arnold style training, serge nubret style training). I was getting fatter than I liked and my posing looked blobby, so I went on a new mass/symmetry phase. Deca/Dbol/Sust with Serge Nubret training : 2 day split, 2 on 1 off, 12-20 sets per body part 12-15 reps, check juice authority's excellent post on this in his growth thread on the anabolic board.) Yesterday was the first day, no doubt why I puked. Going now for shoulder, arms, calves, abs. Essentially, these phases involve machines, high volume, high reps, little rest. The power phases are all compound, free weight, low volume, 3-5 rep range. Diet is always "see-food" diet as I am the king of ectomorphs. (sorry bro -- but god is very unfair :rolleyes: )

So which routine would you reccomend for someone training for a bodybuilding contest.....solid, lean mass and size.........not necessarily strength, although I would assume it come hand in hand......think I'm gonna run the Sus/T400?Deca stack.........?
 
well, I too am into the show thing. I believe that higher rep work with more isolation beefs up my body and hardens it more. But often my strength will not change at all or even go down with this stuff. Then I do two months of heavy training, like the old-timers say "To build density." Unknown if any of this has any scientific basis at all, but it works. or seems to. The old-timers (Arnold, Franco, Lou, Reeves, Grimek . . .) used to include "heavy days" each week where they would bench, squat, dead. I am too monomaniacal for this, so I prefer to powerlift (and do comps for that being the goal) for 2 months, bodybuild for two months (to comp there). Ultimately will pick my bed and suspect it will be bodybuilding. But I really, really love them both. And if you look at this board, Needsize, etc, good bodybuilders lift for power. See Franco dl over 800 pounds below. End of discussion. Also reflect on the majesty of Serge, a true inspiration.

Awesome brother!! When I trained legs hard and heavy, I used to puke or dry heave on an almost weekly basis. Sometimes 2X a week. That part I could do without. Got sick of it after a while! haha No matter how much tolerance I built, Id just keep pushing myself farther each time and it was inevitable. This went on for years. Ive cut down my intensity on legs somewhat to make room for deads. Also didnt like fasting for most of the day after legs. So now Im trying to keep somewhat of a balance with legs. My growth wasnt near what it shouldve been for all the sacrifice.
 
yes, you are right walkingbeast. I have been accused of Tom Platzism myself :worried: I really do try to resist it, I promise. But I can't :) I won't yak tomorrow, with legs, I'm sure. I really think that the high volume snuck up on me, and I've also had alot of DOMS, still to this day from that day. But it was fun, and I had no doubts I took it to the wall.
