gimme examples of your leg day

SMITH SQUATS??? oh dear lord help this poor child.
 
my usual leg day is this

tons of sq warmups, finally get to my balls to the wall workset, usually anywhere from 3-20 reps depending on feel

1 set of hacks, 20 reps

some gay glute machine, 2 sets of 16

lunges 2 sets of whatever

seated calves

no, but thats got nothing to do with smith machine "squats".
i'm also much smaller than you.
frankly, i can't squat because of my back, but pound for pound, i'm pretty strong.

it make no sense to do free weight squats heavy when one has already done leg press first as the main mass movement.

Each key Bodypart only needs one real mass movement
