GG's.. Running away from old age log....

my biology professor was an avid jogger, he used to log and add up his miles and put a push pin in a map to show where he could have jogged to. 2 or 3 years he had some crazy ass total that woulda put him in Austrailia or some shit...

Hi GG!
Have you read the Using a Heart Rate Monitor for the compleat idiot?
I think it has a very good approach on how to train...(dracula voice) theee heart...
It can get milage up, without overtraining...I have it here soemwhere if you need details let me know...

I have one...I don't use it....I can tell pretty mcuh where I am at by my breathing...

HT....I have seen people do that before......I wonder how long it would take me to run over to St. Heights......

Oct 3....

I have a race this weekend and Im not ready...I should have ran yesterday and I feel sick to my stomach and have since yesterday....So my plans are:

take day off to feel better, have to work tonight anyway
start drinking my water, since hydration is super important all week before a race
take my coryceps daily
buy my asthma meds
run tomorrow afternoon (long run), thurday(short course) and friday(really short course)then nothinging until Sunday whichis the race...

Trying to get my mind in the game and I just don't feel so hot....

Take it easy til sunday.. Don't over do it otherwise the rase won't go toooo well!

Good plan.. Def make thursday the longest run.. Go with the flow, Drink some peppermint tea too..

I was laying in bed this am watching the news....feeling my stomach tighten and cramp and then go away and repeat....lol...

Don't do anything today.. It'll get worse!

See how you feel tmw and do some light jogging..

I would.. Get better instead..

Don't do any kind of training today..

What is it? A cramp or Stich kinda pain..??

Cramp....but I have IBS and drank a ton of saturday....that might be it too. feels like someine is squeezing your stomach then letting go and then doing it again :worried:

I've just looked it up.. Alot of foods trigger it huh!!

The first on the list was Alcohol.. Def the reason GG!

This BOWTROL is mentioned in every site for IBS.. Very natural ingrediants for soothing abdominal pain etc...

Stay away from diary, if you don;t already!

Im going to get some of that on the way to work.....I haven't had issues in a long time....but I think that is what it is....

October 5th...

I plan to run just a few miles today to give my body a small break before Sundays race..If I can't run today I will run tomorrow in the am for about 2 miles. I have looked at the course and the run is really hilly again...(bastards lol)....but I do have a partner that will do the bike portion (2-person relay) but I still need to bring mine just incase. So I will be running 6.2 miles all together...My friend wanted me to help set up so I have to be there at 7:00am..but I was thinking this might be good for my nerves lol...Ill have alot of time to defocus lol...

Oct 6th

Crappy 3 mile run today...cold air made me wheeze...SO not sure what I am going to do about that. I need to go to the running store..But looking forward to getting this race over this weekend

October 7th...
No training today...race tomorrow...Not sure how I feel about this race...Oh well off to soccer with 3 kids....YUCK

Oct 9th.....

Okay lets start this log the day before....hubby and I were in a HUGE fight....He told me that he would file for divorce tomorrow if I gave him full custody of the kids...so this tells you what kind of fight it was....BAD...

So lack of sleep stress from that made my running harder....BUT the course was very hilly and on grass and dirt the whole time which I have never really ran on for long periods of time....Si I ran 2 5k's at about 35 min each..My allergies for some reason out there are always bad....but the day itself was okay....My home life sucks lol....oh well nothing new....

Aww GG! Like everyone mentioned.. Happy that you still ran..

Hopefully things will get better.. Maybe he had a rough day.. Hope it all works out!!

Awwww GG, that freaking sucks! :worried: Do not fight the night before a race! Avoid it at all costs, it's bad for the psyche!

I'm super proud of you for getting out there and running your race with a lot on your mind. You don't give up which makes you a winner! ;)

Great time on a longer race. I hope things at home get better soon too.

Hey where have you been?lol....Oh it was rough but always worth it....The hardcore dual and tri people were fun to watch.....gives me that itch to keep moving forward...How is your program going and did you compete yet?

What she said - you are a winner because you still went out there and did your race regardless.

Hot Mom! You should go for it!

Look your not married to me....come be my teammate for an adventure race this one is

Trekking / Orienteering:
The total trekking will be a minimum of 4 miles - more depending on the selected route. The terrain will vary from trails to dense brush, woodlands and swampy lowlands. Teams will always go through a significant off-trail section where navigation will be tested.

Canoe:
Teams will be paddling 4-6 miles depending on their route. Teams are responsible for their own canoes, paddles (standard or kayak), and PFDs.

Mountain Bike:
The mountain bike stage(s) will be 15-25 miles in length. Teams must locate and check in at each of the required checkpoints. The course will include a combination of single track, dirt and paved roads.

Fixed Ropes:
We will hopefully have a fixed ropes section. More details will be released as the race nears.

All done in December with or with out snow/rain.....you would freeze your pansy ass off...Shit I would have to drag your ass out of the woods....cityboy

Dammnnnnn GG, an adventure race is pretty hardcore. Sounds like fun though. Your race doesn't seem too long, I know people that have cover 100 miles. Sleeping in the woods at night for two days. Can you imagine how much they smell like ass after they are done with a two day race? :worried: Iccckkkyyyy!

You should do it, since it will be cold in December people shouldn't sweat and stink too bad. ;) You'll have a blast with your friend too, talk about memories.

i think it is a 8 hour sprint....HELLLLLOOOOOO 8 hours in the freezing cold..My luck id end up in the river LOL....Michigan is kinda cold....anyway I am thinking about it...already do most of it but the ropes......

My goal right now is the dual and the 10K in November and thanks for the info...Im going to use it!!

I don't handle cold weather well at all. You can make me run in the 97 degree heat but I'm a cry baby if it drops below 40.

You better stock up on cold weather training gear! Have you seen those running pull over with the mittens sewed into the sleeve? You just pull it over your hands. I want one but they are $99.00 at the fitness shop!

Hey now that is a good think for here lol...Have you ever seen anything that helps you in the cold weather to breath in warmer air...It would go acrosses the mouth or face?? Do they make anything that is good but not to uncomfy

Okay it was 38 degrees....ran 2.5 miles with a Balacalva on lol I looked liked the neighborhood rapist...I have to get the pics off my cell phone you guys will die laughing

You must post a picture! It would crack me up!

Way to stick it out, even in the freaking cold! Do you ears ever hurt? When I breathe in cold air, my inner ears ache.

Awesome run, GG! So how long did it take to run six miles? See, you already got a 10k down, Girl!

Too bad nobody showed up for your class. Do you think they saw you running with the Balaclava on? Maybe they are scared of the town rapist! :verygood:
