Gearheads is it worth putting performance exhaust on a V6?

I've heard Borla is good quality for gas mileage. Thinking of getting a catback setup. I'm getting the mod bug again. Probably would end up doing the intake/headers later when I can afford it.

Do you mean Borla? I had a Techtonics tuning full exhaust system on my VW GTI VR6 and it sounded sweet.

not true, it depends what type of V6 and diameter of pipe

borla has a nice tone for the most part

I have a Vortec 4.3L. I'm sure it'd sound good if it was kept mellow, especially with some headers.

sure. . .but you gotta upgrade your intake system to balance things out. . .if you loosen-up your exhaust flow, you gotta remove intake restrictions as well to get the most out of the system. . .

big V6 capacity, whats it out of, a truck of some sort? cat back system is worth it for noise but not alot else

I have a Vortec 4.3L. I'm sure it'd sound good if it was kept mellow, especially with some headers.

The biggest concern would be increased gas mileage, and a muffler that lasts.
