Gear left in syringe...?

I feel I'm losing a fair bit left in the tip of the syringe after injecting, not the needle but the point of the plastic the needle attaches to. Is this normal?

Is there syringes that don't do this?

Today I tried leaving an air bubble in the syringe to try and get the last bit but because I shoot quads it was too hard trying to make the bubble stay at the top (I come in on the side)

1ml is such little liquid, I could end up doing 400mg a week instead of 500mg...???

I used to worry myself to death about this too. No worries. If you overthink, which you're doing, lol then yes it could mount up to "losing" a lot.. but I promise it's not a big deal.

If you have enough of your stash, go a little above your usual hash mark on the needle. That way it evens out. That's what I do when I have a good supply.

PS- don't leave an air bubble!!! That crap becomes dangerous especially if you hit a vein dude.

You will be alright man, like stated already draw a little extra Into the syringe.

A small air bubble won't kill you, it will desipate into your muscle, but like I said a SMALL, tiny bubble!

And if you hit a vein you will know for sure, when you aspirate you will get blood in the syringe, that's why it's good to aspirate to avoid injecting into a vein.

you got to step up the game and get the right needles...this is what i use...

you lose nothing...be sure to press gently because if your jamming the syringe plunger down you will retract the needle pre mature and waste more then the .1 in each shot

I estimate you lose about .1ml per injection. I just chalk it up to the game.

Lol, not really. You need about 20cc of air injected onto a vein for it to be an issue.

you know what I did the other day? pulled the top off my vial and got an extra .25 mls outta the last few drops of the bottle of primo

ps: if you push hard enough it squeezes the last drops out

I try to leave JUST enough of a bubble in the syringe to push the liquid nearly all out of the syringe, but not enough to push the liquid all the way out and put air in the muscle. All due respect to Nelson M, it's all in how carefully you do it. There IS a cardinal rule "NO air in syringe", but it's kind of like the "never look down the barrel of a gun" rule... There are exceptions, such as when you're cleaning the gun, and you get your swab stuck in the barrel. Common sense says it's OK to break the rule and look into the barrel so that you don't spend 45 minutes fiddle-farting around and scratching up the rifling with an awl, trying to get the stuck swab out without looking at it. Sorry for the elaborate analogy, but I want to make a point about "cardinal rules".

I always inject with the needle facing slightly or straight down, so that the bubble is the last thing to vacate the syringe. As soon as I see the bubble hit the needle hub, I stop pressure. That way, there's only about a microlitre or liquid wasted. I shoot delts, ventro glutes, and occasionally quads (although quads for me are the most likely to hurt later).

You can practice with your exact needle and syringe type, by saving a used one (or a new one if you have plenty) and try drawing plain water or cooking oil and leaving different size bubbles, and get it to where you know how big a bubble it takes in your syringe to accomplish not wasting any liquid.
