gay, rainbow bumper stickers...

I just want to point out that I don't have a bumper sticker....but I don't put down folks that display them.

Why?

Because years ago you couldn't 'come out'. Whoever fought for gay pride were pioneers...they risked everything to expose the hatred and put it out.

Without exposure...if we are all hidden...then straight folk would continue to put us down, in the open...even worse than they do now.

Because of things like the rainbow sticker, we can come out if we so choose, without the incredible risks of those that came before us. The rainbow sticker represents the fact that EVERYONE has a family member that is gay...everyone works with a gay person...

So SHOW YOUR STICKER IF YOU'VE GOT IT, WITH PRIDE!

I don't have any stickers (they mess up the paint), but I do have a license plate cover that says "Good Boys Go To Heaven .. Bad Boys Go Everywhere"

why do some gays feel the need to advertise their sexual preference? you don't see any hetero stickers right? I dont' advertise and neither should gays.

The Equal sign sticker is the Human Rights Campaign .. it's not a gay sticker specifically.

That is just my opinion.. I just think they are trashy... I think I am a walking example of gay pride.. I am openly gay in a industry that is not so forward thinking. I live my pride daily. People accept me, because of the type of person I am, and I have changed many narrow minded people's opinion on what gay people are.

Soo if you want to plaster your car with rainbow stickers, or any other type of sticker go ahead... I just do not want them on mine, because I think they are trashy.. I respect your opinion on this subject, but I think there are a lot better ways to recieve acceptance and spread knowledge. Than plastering your car with rainbows.
