FUCKED up news...

Bro I feel for you...the same thing happened to my roomates. We were both slinging and ounce or 2 here and there...some dipshit that I sold to repeatedly came knocking for me, I wasn't there, my other slinging roomate was, and he made the deal. The kid had a wire on and he bought a fucking 8th...I'm sure the wire cost more than the $50 eighter. Anyway, 3 weeks later the narco swat team came crashing in. They came in from mulitple doors...surrounded the whole house, you would've thought Pablo Escobar was inside. The absolutley trashed our house, it looked like a robbery. Clothes everywhere, food on the floor, computer disks confiscated, fucking bizarre. After their 3 hour search, they turned up a lousy quarter of dank and a triple beam. Still, they charged my buddy with two felony's (distribution and manufacture) and a misdemenour. He was looking at a stretch but he kept his mouth shut. Due to some police shadiness, he completely walked...fuck you Lansing Narcotics Team!!!

Fucking same exact situation! Damn, this shit is fucked up. My bro said they came in the house, guns drawn...guns in everyone's face. His roomate and his girlfriend were there, and the cops had guns pointed at them. They stripped my brother down naked, with a gun in his face and trashed the place. Pretty fucked up if ya ask me.

The reason you buddy is facing a longer stretch could be because the amount of loot found at the house. 8k is nothing to sneeze at, the prosecutor and judge certainly know about this. They are giving him a stretch 'cause they think he is a high-roller. They know how much weed costs, someone with that cash is slinging lbs., not just a zero or two. The 2 year deal is probably the max penalty, completely legal for a judge to dole out. I highly doubt the lawyer is slacking...w/o knowing much more, I would say take the plea. Those fuckers love to grind it to people, and if you waste their time with a trial they get pissed. Take a plea, become trustee in the first two weeks, try to get work release, hope for overcrowding (usually results in non-violent offenders getting released early)...

Yeah...but he was makin some good cash at work, which is where most of that money came from. He had the cash on hand (and not in the bank) because he was planning ono spending it on his new car...he was gonna buy a bunch of shit for it with cash...rims, tv's, and whatnot. He wasn't one to save money...they should probably take that into acct. I'm sure if they looked at the amount of money he was making at work, and compared that to what was in his bank acct, they'd realize all that $8k didn't come from weed.

I guess that's the lawyer's job though

He shouldn't have sold to someone, that's whats wrong with the picture.

It's not like the laws were just made or anything. I'm sure he knew the risk.

I realize this...but lots of people fuck up, multiple times...and get off scott free. Don't get me wrong, I know what he did was wrong...but should the punishment not fit the crime?

Sorry bro, this will probably be unexplainable in court. Anyway you slice it, they found the money in a suspected drug house. Their is just too many concidences...judges never buy this shit. Besides, everyone has explanations like this.
large amount loot + possession/distrubution controlled substance = not good.

sorry for my cold outlook, but I know from experience...

And in the end they're not really interested in justice at all. They're interested in obtaining as many convictions as possible of the highest level possible to pad their resumes. And, if they can seize a lot of property and money in the process even better for their resumes and budget. No matter if it's "right" or appropriate. Not to mention that they'll stick by their guns if they screwed up even if it means fucking someone else over.
