FUCKED up news...

Where you live at Bull? I think it's quite retarded that 56 grams of weed is a felony. As far as I'm concerned anything under a lb. should be a civil infraction.

Same here bro...and I think it would be, had it been here (Boston). This all went down in NH...and that's the problem. They have a "drug task force," I guess since they spent so much money tailing him and shit, they want to get their money's worth.

What happened originally is that this kid that turned him in, told the cops that my bro had heroin, guns, coke, etc...of which he never dealt with, EVER. So I guess they put alot of money into the case, followed him around, took pictures, paid this kid to go into his house and shit like that. And it turns out they didn't find anything of what they were looking for...just some weed and money, but since they spent all their money/time on it, they gotta get something out of it.

This is so messed up. Although i done condone the use of any drugs (except juice of course), I do think it's fucked that rapists and murderers walk free while people like your bro who seems like a standup guy goes to county for a year for 2oz of weed. All my bests to your bro.

Thanks bro...I really appreciate the kind words.

And I feel the same way...i am in no way condoning what he did. But it just seems a little skewed that someone like this could go to jail for something so minute.

And guys, please don't think I'm making him out to be an angel...he's no angel, but he's no one that deserves to be in a fucking prison...and especially for that stretch of time. He's a fucking great guy, no reason for them to fuck with him like that are. He's learned his lesson, and he'd be the last person you would find selling drugs again...so there really isn't a need for him to go to jail IMO.

Hey...at least they're trying to get sex offenders' pictures taken off the internet here in MA...wouldn't want to inconvenience them.

fight it. new lawyer, start again

i know a guy who was caught with 2500 ecstasy pills....2500!!!!

he spent 14 days in state prison and was on a good behaviour bond for 5 years

this is australia though...although we have arguably retarded laws

It seems like the worse the offense (and the offender), the easier they take it on you. I swear to god, every time I hear of one of my friends (alot of them have at least some sort of record) doing something terrible (assault and battery, or "serious" drugs usually) they get off with a slap on the wrist.

I don't get it.

My best friend got caught with 3100, and spent a year and a day in Federal Prison, this was 5 years ago, the guidelines are much stricter now......

Whether or not the punishment fits the crime is irrelevant.

I'm not being a dick, just telling it like it is. Everyone has heard the story about some local kid who had an ounce on him, wasn't a dealer but sold some of it to a fed anyway. Got busted, went to prison for 10-15.

Yeah, it's fucked up. But if you have more than an 8th in your house, you are running a risk of getting busted as a dealer and going to gang-you-in-the-ass prison.

I realize this...but lots of people fuck up, multiple times...and get off scott free. Don't get me wrong, I know what he did was wrong...but should the punishment not fit the crime?

Part of the justic system includes not only punishment but it also serves to deter criminals. Which in this case, obviously didn't work.

Funny, I always thought that was the point of the "justice" system...
