Simple sugars create a reboudning effect. If you're feeling blah and eat a Snickers or something to that sugary effect. That sugar works like an electrical shock to your system, and you feel more energy. But less than two hours later, that surge (in the form of elevated blood sugars) take a nose dive, and you feel blah again. Your conclusion? You gotta eat another Snicker's bar. :)

Cheats are ok once in awhile. I tend to like my fiber filled cheat snacks wayyy better than the sugar filled choices.
