For those who say God or Jesus has helped/saved them.

Or simply a learned response.

It is llike saying god damnit. Do you really think you're invoking god to damn the guy who just cut you off in traffic or simply repeating an often repeated colloquialism?
if there is know such thing then way say it.gods name is the most said name in the world.

Because it serves a purpose at the time, elicits an emotional response. If there is no such thing why say it. Stop and think of how many things in our language that would apply to. That type of reasoning wipes out entire genres of literature.

God's name is the most said name in the world? Was this in the farmer's almanac? Please prove this to me, not that it matters.

step outside your world for a second though bro.

You know your gut reaction to scientology?

Well why isn't it plausible that others would have that to Christianity?

Basically its putting blind "faith" into something, and someone. Why? Because it works for you! You feel like you get something out of it, so why not do it?

That's why people choose religions, they feel something they can't explain they think their life is better because of it.. so why not roll with it!

To me it all just seems so damn contrived... people believe what they are TOLD! People in authority wield so much power.

THINK FOR YOURSELF QUESTION AUTHORITY.

Lestat is me nearly 20 years ago. I would have never believed in what I do now if I hadn't experienced the things that I did. It would have never made sense to me and I still have many questions. But I know what I know.

praises all day.. sounds like church to me which i find boring as hell.[/QUOTE said:
So did I growing up but now I love it. I have to fight back tears and sometimes I can't. You need to go to a different church maybe. Also because all of the things that God has done for me to reveal himself to me, I want to sing for hours. Church isn't long enough. My church is spirit filled with people that have a deep hunger for God and want to be as close to God as possible. Anything but boring. I can't wait for Sunday.

Means; one deity, conjured in the minds of men, is just as lame as 20 or so, belived to be living on top of Mt Olympus.

Hmmmm... so when good things happen it is not free will? when bad things happen it is free will? where is the puke smiley?

Thank you. Also when entertainers win awards they often say "first off I'd like to thank God". Or when something good happens in someone's life they say "thank God". I don't mean in a joking manner like when people actually believe that their god(s)/fairy's did this just for them.

I know these might be silly examples but when I watch shows where they give away prizes or build a family a home. The families often thank god right away. Hardly giving any credit to the real people who contributed to their gain. I would feel pretty insulted.

And then when they die...there's Jesus saying "hey maing, thanks for the shout out..."

Actually accent Greek mythology along with most other accent world mythologies complement the bible quite well. Just further evidence that the bible is the true word of god.

I myself don't believe in a /the entity referred to as "God"... or religion today. I think after Sunday school, and being an altar boy, at around 7 or 8 years old I realized shortly after it was not something I believed in myself, but just something my parents told me to believe in. None of it seemed credible enough for me to give my time and effort to. Biggest question was,...I never understood how we as human beings, having never meeting any other extra-terresterial life other there alone, could sum up we know how everything began, started, and by whom/it? This just seems crazy to me. Just not my thing,... religion. I just choose to be a good person, as best as I can be to others. I am happy in my life without religious involvement, but everyone should do what makes them happy anyway. With, or without religion. As long as people are good to one another,...I always figured what's the diference anyway...
