Yes, because they are Persian first, then Azeri. Plus it was not military support. It was only financial.

No, they will not. It is not in their interest to help Iraq. They will only fund Shi'ites in Iraq

Iranians are Persian first, then Muslim. If they want to help other Muslims, they do it with money and training. Why do you think that no invading force has ever permanently defeated the Persians in over 6000 years? It is because they fight for their culture and their identity, not some shallow religion.
