For Hire!

Yeah I know pick. I know everyone will give me shit for this, but Ive applied at multiple mcdonalds multiple times. :/. on 4/20/11 they had a day where they were hiring 50 grand employees and I still hadnt gotten hired. Was pretty pathetic and upsetting.

Hey let's start a little charity event for you.. Everyone chip in $1.. Not trying to be funny dude..

Smart thinking on the companies end.

Im not a bad designer at all. I can design better than most out there and can make equally good websites as some of the corporate businesses out there.

But Im about 50 times cheaper heh. Rough times. Times just get harder. Takes money to make money I guess.

Very nice of you mate, But its alright. I dont want to take other peoples money, Id rather work for it than feel bad for taking what others have earned. But then again maybe thats why im in this position haha

Start working the freelance circuit for sure. Check out graphicriver.net, themeforest - I have some very basic design skills but do consulting and I rely on these types of resources to build the framework for things that I give clients.

I have applied around 40 different places, and went to multiple agencies to find a job. Someone with my record ussually has a tough time finding a job, which is why Im sticking to designing right now. No other options out there for me.

Wow, 40! (Yeah, that's not impressive. You sound lazy.)

We need to know moar about your skills and qualifications, education, etc. So far you've given no reason anyone should hire you. Is english your second language or something?

:cow:

I do basic wordpress sites and print collaterals - working on a semi-longterm project at the moment that doesn't require any design at the moment (regarding my freelance stuff)

For my real job I do inside sales/marketing and my boss always wants weird random and "instant" stuff and I'll download indd stuff to work from for a base at least - I learn on the go. I have an undergrad in Finance and MBA but no design experience - I started doing freelance writing on oDesk which gave me the confidence and experience to call myself a freelancer/consultant (sometimes that's all you need)- if you haven't checked it out, I would. There is a thread someplace here that mocks it - and a lot of what it says is true. My trick for bidding for jobs on oDesk is always to overbid their budget - if they want quality they will take it as opposed to somebody overseas that does it for dirt cheap, but you need to build up your feedback kind of like ebay - or have a good portfolio to send. I think there is actually a lot of web work on there - i do have a good rating on there - but don't do any web work through it, only writing. If you want to work on my team we could maybe work something out as I have the rating, but not the skills to bid on these jobs. PM me if you check it out and you're interested.

I said if anyone is interested in a designer I would be glad to show them my work.

English is not my second language. Seeing as how I'm in chat and conversation I could give a shit how my grammar is right now.

Ive worked with Photoshop for around 8 years now or so.

I am Microsoft Certified. I could not afford school because my parents somewhat abandoned me when I was 18. I was taking college classes for Web design and graphic design when I was in high school.

40 is impressive when you live in wisconsin. Sorry that not everybody has a car.

I will definitely give that a look. Thanks for letting me know. I will get back to you sometimes tomorrow if that's alright.

When you're begging potential employers to hire you using proper grammar and punctuation is something to consider.
