A friend of mine died a couple of years ago snowboarding. Same kind of thing as this. He went out of bounds and went over a cliff. He was in a coma for a couple of weeks before his mom and new wife had him taken off of life support. It was so sad, he was such a good guy. We all (Rusty's friends) got together and took his mom and wife out for dinner one night and ended up closing the place just talking about him. The good, the bad, the drunken brawls, calls at 4:00 a.m. from the police, all that stuff. They loved every minute of it and it was good to have everyone there to remember him together.
I'd say talk to his parents. I'd think it would mean a lot to them for you to go out of your way to talk to them about their son. Sorry to hear about your friend bro.
