For all the "Black people" looting talk

1st of all, the looting is ignorant. And yes what I mostly see is black folks doing it. Doesn't it ever hit people how bad poverity is. I mean for some of these people, they feel like this is not all that big of a deal because they live in their own hell as it is (before the storm). I'm definately not makinfg any excuses, but most people can't comprehend how people could risk their lives to try and get merchandise (which is most likely worthless anyway). But that's the mentality of having nothing.

It's funny because I do well now, but I just was in my office kitchen listing to a couple of high 6 & 7 figure salary dudes jokingly compare a neighborhood in Baltimore where I grew up to New Orleans right now. You should have seen their jaws drop when I told them I used to live there.

Just think for a minute how bad, Pre Katrina, these people's lives were that they feel they have to to this fucked up stupid shit.

Unless you have been at a point of desparation like a lot of the NO folks..you really cant comment on that urge.

Now - shooting at helicopters etc is another story...looting homes.....those folks should be stoppd...violently if need be.


If you were an officer and saw someone looting food...would you shoot them?

IMHO it's quickly becoming a chicken/egg type thing as far as color and race go. Whether you saw it first on TV or heard it on the radio, my first thought was "dirty #$#^#$%# black people.

Just happens to be that the projects and prisons of NO have seemed to empty out and are now looting and raping the city.
