Unless you have been at a point of desparation like a lot of the NO folks..you really cant comment on that urge.

Now - shooting at helicopters etc is another story...looting homes.....those folks should be stoppd...violently if need be.


If you were an officer and saw someone looting food...would you shoot them?

Shadow is right. People need food and water. I know I would do what I needed to survive (short of ripping it out of the hands of someone else in the same boat as me). In fact I recall seeing something a couple of days ago where Wal-Mart said people could take water, drinks and food from their stores without reprisal - but people walking out with TV's? When there is not only no power but no house to put it in? Color, social class, whatever - there is no excuse for much of what is going on now.

I hope it gets better before it gets worse.

Unfortunately, some people are using this as an excuse to profit. Honestly, I don't think any of the Walmarts, Kmarts, Target stores etc. will be able to sell any of the merchandise once they open back up anyway. They will probably consider everything to be damaged goods. I worked at a "Megalomart" type store one summer and if something even had damage to the box we wouldn't sell it.

The real problem is the sense of anarchy. You saw how it escalated from stealing Nikes and TVs to shooting cops.

Don't apologize. I thought the same thing. Unfortunately to many (including those on this site) it is. Like 2ez, I saw it as extremely poor people with nothing to lose doing it for survival or being asinine. There are low-lifes in every shape & form.

Although your last point is undoubtedly true, the projects,prisons, and poverty stricken communities of Southern Louisiana aren't very racially diverse. Makes for an easy slant.
