I`m glad that humanity and good will to all mankind still exists here at EF(sarcasm). These people are from different backgrounds with alot in common. They are all poor, desperate and in pain. The looting of electronics and clothes is from a lack of ethics, it`s ignorance. Sitting behind your computer and making racial comments is ignorant. If this was your community ( which I assume is mostly white and economically safe) you could very well be on tv at your weakest moment. What would you be caught doing? Surely not being your calmest and rational. I hope people across this board take time to appreciate what they have because just like New Orleans, it could be one of us that needs aid. Please pay attention to the biggest need, they need help.

Just read this a few moments ago on CNN.

Overnight, police snipers were stationed on the roof of their precinct, trying to protect it from gunmen roaming through the city, CNN's Chris Lawrence reported.

One New Orleans police sergeant compared the situation to Somalia and said officers were outnumbered and outgunned by gangs in trucks.

"It's a war zone, and they're not treating it like one," he said, referring to the federal government.

The officer hitched a ride to Baton Rouge Friday morning, after working 60 hours straight in the flooded city. He has not decided whether he will return.

He broke down in tears when he described the deaths of his fellow officers, saying many had drowned doing their jobs. Other officers have turned in their badges as the situation continues to deteriorate.

In one incident, the sergeant said gunmen fired rifles and AK-47s at the helicopters flying overhead.

He said he saw bodies riddled with bullet holes, and the top of one man's head completely shot off.

Has anyone noticed that when it came to rich white NY getting hit, Bush was lickity split with the help. But, poor black NO gets hit and it just feels like he is dragging his heels. I'm not saying that this is the way it is; only that it feels this way.

NY doesn't compare to Katrina's damage,it was two city blocks and Katrina's damage spreads over hundreds of miles.Thats just stupid to compare the two events.

The aid is slow but imo they never expected this kind of damage and of course they were not prepared.
