D desman New member Feb 8, 2004 #5 not that is is a huge deal but i think eating alot of seeds can be hard on the intestines as they pass thru. I have a good friend who has diver ticulitus(intestine problem) and if he eats seeds they lodge in the intestine and cause sever pain

S stealthy New member Feb 9, 2004 #8 I get organic golden flax seeds in bulk at Whole Foods or Wild Oats health food stores. I fill up just above the blades in a coffee grinder, grind em and mix it in water or juice. It tastes good and not hard on the stomach at all. In water it tastes like cream of wheat cereal...

Seashell El Kabong Platinum Feb 9, 2004 #9 Are you eating the seeds whole or grinding them up Gymgurl? I'm pretty sure if you eat them whole, they stay like that all the way through, so you don't get the benefit of the oil inside the seed at all...

There are actually more benefits of eating the seeds as you get more lignans, I believe it is from the husks around the seed. I always add flax seeds to my oatmeal or cereal and use the flax oil for my shakes and salads. I am assuming you by these from the store ground up right?
