I don't ever post on c&c but I was hoping someone could help me.

I really want a new tv and I've been looking at a few. I've looked at samsung and panasonic.

I'm confused on whats better lcd or plasma. Someone please help me. :)

LCDs are a better deal, I just had a 1 1/2yr old plasma Samsung crap out on me and its not woth 10cents! (panel burned out)

Get an LCD and get an extended warranty!

The price will keep dropping as they gain more popularity.

RADAR

LCD with 50,000:1 contrast ratio, dynamic of course.

Plasmas will soon be old technology, it appears manufacturers are abandoning them.

They are abandoning them because they're too expensive and no one buys them.

Kid at best buy: Well this plasma is $2400 and its 120 hz @ 1080p
Costumer: Oh, ok. What about that LCD?
Kid at best buy: That LCD is $1400 and its 120 hz @ 1080p
Customer: Well hell, I'll take the LCD

When I was choosing between plasma and lcd, I bought the lcd because the doode answering questions was wearing a panasonic shirt and was clearly trying to get me to buy his shit (the plasma). So I had him load the lcd up for me and told him I would have taken his word more seriously if he wasnt pimped out in panasonic clothes like a nascar driver.

Plasma I believe has brighter colors which isn't always a good thing. Sometimes the colors can be too bright. LCD generally has a longer life span. And cost of the LCD has already been mentioned. Prices on LCDs have come way down the past 2 years, especially if you get a 720p. If you are getting a 46" or larger, you will probably want to get the 1080p. Of course 1080p is going to give you a better picture no matter what size screen you have, on anything less than 46" most people won't notice a difference between 1080 and 720. I have a 1080p on a 40" screen. I took the 1080p over the 720p model because it was on sale and the price was only $10 more. Blu-Ray is awesome with it!
