flat bb bench and incline bb bench on same day?

hey yall, I've flat benched and incline benched during the same chest day for years now but now I feel like I should separate the 2 lifts into 2 separate chest days...especially since I'm thinking of running a modified WSB program for a while now...I'm always pretty smoked by the time I hit incline bench anyways (although I dont lose much strength, I lose a ton of endurance so maybe like 3 or 4 sets)

so what do you guys think? go all out flat one day and all out incline another?

thanks,
CN

Sounds good. I do both on the same day at max effort right now. I just do 2 sets of both/

i rotate them in for ME days, one exercise each day. my big 3 are usually, flat bb, incline bb and palms facing db presses. with all the other accessory work, i don't usually need any more. though i know alot of people who are more advanced in WSB who will do their bench work and then some board work or floor presses for their tricep work.

just try switchin it up. sometimes i'll even hit inclines instead of flat or before han. i really don't like to do it the same day. my bench went up alot since i started really switching up. every week for me is different. maybe i'll max out on inclines or just do dbs or even hit chest 2-3 times a week. whatever works for you bro. no one's the same

This may not be of much use if you end up going with WSB, but I like to use a bb with my primary movement, then db's after. Like flat bb then db incline for 3-4 weeks, then incline bb followed by flat db for variety.

Yes - as others mentioned if you move to WSB program you may not have to worry too much about the either or. Before I started to train WSB a year ago - I did BB style workout for about 7 years and would use the barbell for my ME movement such as flat bench then move to an incline DB. If I inclined that day for my ME I would then move to a flat DB. Its a way to mix it up and can be done also with Hammer or machine work if you use them.

If moving to WSB...your ME Bench days will consist of a bench movement usually 3 reps up to a 1RM and other accessory work as well as Tricep, Back and Shoulder movement. Your DE Bench days will consist also of a bench movement (usually flat); focusing on speed and explosive strength. To do this you will use lighter weight at a % of your max. Accessory movements for back, shoulders, abs on this day as well, while you move quickly through the workout. All in all if you are moving to a WSB style workout I would assume you have interest in powerlifting or increasing your raw strength in your lifts. Try the box squatting as well on your lower body ME/DE days. You'll be amazed at the strength you'll build in your squats. Good luck.
